Not bad, not great.

Posted 13-Sep-2014
Pros: If you have kids, the pool looks great. Staff was always friendly, but they always looked weary and worn out.
Cons: While improvements might be able to be made, this hotel is about as good as can be for its age and they arent going to invest further here.
Location: The location is easily accessible on/off US Highway 54/400. Wichita has a weird roadway system so the entry/exit seems kinda odd.
I was expecting the high quality of La Quinta that I have experienced in other areas; this was not it. My room was clean, the staff was pleasant, and the internet worked. So, for a business traveler, I guess this is okay. If you have kids, the pool area looks awesome. This hotel is right on what is now a very busy corner. I had a room on the backside, so I did not notice any excessive noise. My stay was during the week, so the hotel was fairly quiet; however, due to the hotel age, I could hear all the noises in the hallway however slight it seemed. BUT..this is obviously a hotel La Quinta bought and tried to unsuccessfully make over, and is not a great representative of the La Quinta chain. Everything seems dated and has the look of just about ready to come apart. The breakfast buffet had a good selection but was of average quality; the content never varied during my 3 days. You can tell this hotel used to be grand, but...... Anyways, for the value, this hotel is worth it for a short stay or if you have the kids. For me though, I am spending a few dollars more and going to a bit nicer place. Again, this place was as clean as it could be for its' age, which many places can't say.

Stay in Wichita

Posted 19-Aug-2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Cleanliness and updating of the rooms and grounds. It does not make a very good first impression.
Location: Very close (walking distance) to great restaurants and shopping.
The room could be cleaner. The air vents had dust coming off of them. The entire hotel and grounds needs to be updated. The landscaping was old and worn out, It just gave me a dirty feeling. We changed out return trip to Wichita to another hotel which was much better.

Good spot!

Posted 15-Aug-2014
Cons: I wish that the curtains (supposedly "blackout") made a better seal against the outside light than they did.
This place was a nice change-up to the other places we stayed at on our cross-country trip, because it was all inside a building (like a real hotel). They also had a pool which seemed nice (though we unfortunately didn't get the chance to use it). Although, I had a hard time finding the hotel in the middle of the night because of my goofy gps, but one of the guys in the lobby took my phone call and kindly walked me through the directions to finding the hotel. The rooms themselves feel a tiny bit outdated, and slightly dingy compared to some of the newer places at similar prices, but everything was clean, and we slept well.

Great for kids!

Posted 13-Jul-2014
The pool is this hotel's saving grace. The rooms were clean but very small with a tiny bathroom; pretty outdated. Breakfast service was lacking most days. Staff very friendly and helpful. If we weren't bringing kids to swim I would have chosen someplace a little nicer.

Pros: Staff
Cons: Attention to details. Grunge behind bathroom doors etc.
Location: Good food nearby.
A little shabby in areas, but comfortable. The staff was great, except for maintenance. Shower handles etc. were less than perfect.

Pool is the highlight...

Posted 20-Jun-2014
Pros: Pool, breakfast.
Cons: Parking lot too small, hotel is pretty noisy.
Location: Lots of restaurants nearby. Easy access.
Left behind a bag with our wet swim suits in it, which was kept at the front desk until we returned to retrieve it. (We were visiting family in the area so fortunately had not gone far by the time we realized it was missing.) However, when I took everything out of the bag discovered my own swim top which I distinctly recall putting in the bag with the rest of my family's clothes, was gone. Very disappointed that it was stolen. It was very hard to find one that fit as well as that one did and I'm sure will never find another, or will now have to search eternally to find one. (As any woman can attest to, when trying to shop for swimwear.) Would not return, even though I thought the pool was very nice and the breakfast was great.

Great refurbished hotel near many restaurants.

Posted 17-Jun-2014
My family and I enjoyed our stay in this refurbished older hotel. Don't let the older exterior fool you. The interior has been fully refurbished and has modern amenities. My children especially enjoyed the indoor, tropical setting pool. The free breakfast was also delicious, including b/g, waffles (make your own), fresh fruit, pastries, etc.

Ok, but nothing special

Posted 16-Jun-2014
Pros: Nice pool
Cons: Clean the pool/hot tub, put guests farther apart or improve soundproofing, better beds!!
Location: Good location right off major highway with tons of food places, shopping and directly across from the mall.
Friendly staff, pool was dirty and the hot tub was even dirtier. Room walls are PAPER THIN!!!! Beds were uncomfortable. Good for a place to sleep but that is about it (and that's only if your neighbor isn't up partying all night).

King size bed.

Posted 16-Jun-2014 on Hotels.com
The room and hotel was everything thing I expected except for the bed. It was the size we reserved but after laying on it, it felt like there was no box spring. We were laying on a smooshy bed with no support.
