“Inexpensive but Uncomfortable”

The rooms in this motel are small and cramped, especially the bathroom. The furnishings are old and sparse. The towels are thin. The continental breakfast was adequate but not up to other budget motels' standards. If price is your only consideration, stay here. Otherwise, keep looking.

“Cheap and convenient”

The Hermann Motel is under new management, and they are improving it. Kudos for that! The Motel is conveniently located to the attractions but it is old and cramped (especially bathrooms!). There was some question to the cleanliness from our friends, but ours was fine. The old owners were a lot friendlier than our taciturn check-in clerk, but it was 11 o'lock by the time we got there. There was some confusion with the reservations, but he figured it out. They offer free continental breakfast, coffee makers in rooms, and intermittend WiFi. The motel is cheaper than the B&B's in town. That will probably be the determing factor to go there again, as there is a lack of other options.

“OK Economy motel- currently undergoing renovation 11/2009”

The Hermann Motel is currently an OK economical motel. It is undergoing rennovation under new ownership so I expect that as the remodel goes on the accomodations will improve. The Motel is a very economical choice in a tourist town that abounds in Suites and B&Bs that usually come with a significantly higher price tag than the Motel. The free wi-fi is helpful for those who travel with a laptop. The staff was friendly. The Motel is in a good location and if you are so inclined you can walk the few blocks to the heart of downtown with ease, making it much easier to justify a visit to the chocolate shop down the street.
