We went for a four night stay for our friends wedding in ghe Etruscan hills about 20 mins outside Volterra.
When we arrived, the staff couldn't have been more welcoming and upgraded us, completely unprompted to a suite!.
The pool was a bit on the chilly side but definately welcome after an hours sun but i'm sure it'll be perfect later on in the season.
The food and drink was very reasonable and the waiting staff were incredibly friendly.
There were a few too many older people there but i think they had a coach party in but that's not the hotel's fault. I was just conscious of my very excited six year old boy being slightly too loud but no one seemed to care and all the staff genuinely made a massive fuss of him.
if you are looking for a really great value, authentic Estruscan 4* hotel. You could do alot worse than the Park Le Fonti....... oh, and in the great indoor Spa area with the latgest jacuzzi i've ever seen, it has a Doccia Emotionale or emotional shower to you and I......... good times!!!!

From the outside it looked a little grim, however the welcome was very warm and the room spacious, cool and airy with a little balcony overlooking fields at the back. The teenagers had bunk beds and ours was large and comfy.
It is a little outside the town and at night the walk back was a bit eerie - however the appearance of fireflies dancing along the road in front of us turned it into a magical experience.
The breakfasts were the usual fare but with nice home made cake - and we ate there one evening and we were surprised at the quality of the food and how reasonable it was. The staff were extremely accommodating

We stayed here during August and since the hotel doesn't have any air conditioning we had to leave the window open at night to not feel stifled. This wouldn't be a problem except that our window was directly above the hotel restaurant's outdoor seating and there was a long row of motorcycle-only parking spots directly across the street. As a result we were treated to loud talking, dishes clanking, and motorcycles revving about every 20 minutes until the very early hours of the morning with no way to reduce the noise without cutting off our access to fresh air. Needless to say we slept horribly both nights. I would not recommend this hotel if you are planning to come during warm months where opening the window at night would be necessary.
Also one day when we returned to the room after it had been cleaned my friend noticed that someone had gone through her bags. Nothing had been taken, nothing at all. But she is the kind of person who has a set place for everything and she knew that the items in her bag were not where she had left them. It gave us about 10 minutes of panic before we were able to go through everything and make sure that nothing had been taken. Other than that incident the staff were all very professional and helpful.
Wonderful house in an amazing city, rooms are huge and very comfortable. A little noisey at night but you can close the shutters then its fine. Owner even noticed it was my wife's 40th and got her a bottle of bubbly. Very memorable trip to an amazing city an d a lovely house!!

Set high upon eroded volcanic cliffs, Volterra is an austere walled town with spectacular views. Its well-preserved medieval core is full of historic buildings, but the archaeological finds in the splendid Etruscan Museum date back even further. Also worth a look is the Duomo, with its startling interior of striped walls and gilded ceilings. A flag-hurling competition and a crossbow tournament are regular summer fixtures.
