Awesome!

Posted 21-Aug-2014
Pros: Just about everything.
Cons: The mattress was a bit soft.
Location: Victoria is an awesome vacation destination. Butchart Gardens was overwhelming. The Victoria Butterfly Garden was a trip highlight. So glad we came!
Our room turned out to be a large efficiency apartment with a nice view toward the harbor. It is an easy walk to the water's edge. There are several nice restaurants in neighboring hotels, just a short walk away. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The continental breakfast included hard boiled eggs (still quite warm). There's toasters for the English muffins with an assortment of jams. In some ways, it felt more like a Bed and Breakfast than a hotel. For a simpler, less expensive meal, there's a Denny's on Hwy 17 about 10 or 15 minutes away.

Clean hotel on James Bay

Posted 18-Aug-2014
Pluses for this hotel are it's close proximity to the major attractions in James Bay and downtown Victoria, free breakfast and parking. Everything is within walking distance, although the hotel also offers bikes for use. Staff was pleasant and accommodating, the rooms were clean and the continental breakfast was decent. While there are touch ups needed and there is noise transference from above (we were on the second floor) and no pool, it is a good option for a night or two. Rooms typically do not have an ocean view from inside as hotel is perpendicular to shore, but do from spacious balconies. We spent one night in a one bedroom on a deal so it worked nicely for us. We would go again.

An old inn close to the downtown, and within walki

Posted 15-Aug-2014
Pros: It's quaintness and location.
Cons: Complete renovation.
Location: All Victoria activities are very close to the hotel.
We usually stay here once a year. It's handy to the harbour, and a quaint old inn.

Pros: helpful staff , large rooms
Cons: security limit access to the back walkways
Location: whale watching , buchart gardens , , could easily spend a couple of days here
Greg at the front desk couldn't of been more helpful ,rooms were large and clean some concerns about security as all the rooms were accessed from a walkway at the rear of hotel and there was open access to this walkway rooms were large and clean ,staff very accommodating and a good breakfast included also handy for the harbour , and ferry to USA

Great Location, Friendly Staff, Comfortable Stay

Posted 19-Jul-2014
The hotel is located near the harbor but just far enough away from the crowds. It is a pleasant walk past the inner harbor and legislature building. The staff were very friendly at check-in and check-out, and were efficient both times. They were happy to hold our luggage for the afternoon as we went on a whale watching tour. We booked a standard room for two which was very spacious as it had a large sitting area and balcony (shared). We had a great sleep as the bed was very comfortable, and the room was very quiet even though we faced the street. Although the furnishings are not modern, the room was very clean (except hair in the bathtub) and well maintained which is a priority when booking accommodations. The only reason I have not rated the Inn higher is due to the cost. With taxes, it is a little pricey for an older style accommodation.

Great location, wonderful staff

Posted 07-Jul-2014
Pros: Clean, friendly staff, good location, awesome breakfast
Cons: Decor is a bit dated, but wasn't important to us.
Location: Everything you could want to do in Victoria is near enough to walk or catch a bus.
Booked a last-minute stay and was very pleased with this motel. Our suite had a king bed, patio, full kitchenette and living room. Wifi signal was strong and fast. Office attentants were nice and even gave me a toothbrush when I found out I forgot mine! Breakfast was fantastic! Saved a lot of money on restaurants because we could have a hearty breakfast before starting on our adventures. The hotel appears a bit dated but was extremely clean and well appointed. I would reccomend this to families and seniors and anyone who needs a "base" for their Victoria adventure! We did not have a car, but it was a short walk to the major attractions in the inner harbour area, and buses were close by. The Admiral Inn is where we will stay again :)
