Gepflegtes Hotel am Inner Harbor

Posted 29-Jul-2015

Attitude

Posted 27-Jul-2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Staff overwhelmed at breakfast and insufficient tables for guests.
Location: Waterfront, shopping, sights
This hotel has an excellent location and potential charm, but we found the staff inhospitable. We arrive about 11 a.m. and asked if we could get into our room as early as possible to be told "we cannot guarantee availability prior to 3 p.m. Fair enough, and we were not looking for a guarantee. We did, however, think housekeeping might just be doing some rooms soon after check out and just possibly one of those could be our room. The concept seemed to be entirely alien to the staff. Any suggestion was met with the automatic response: we cannot guarantee... So we left our bags, and filled the next four hours, but the initial lack of consideration obviously colored our stay.

Great Location

Posted 26-Jul-2015
Pros: Great location and friendly atmosphere.
Wonderful location close to all the major tourist sites. Interesting old hotel, well maintained and comfortable. Very friendly and helpful staff, nice included breakfast, free underground parking. I don't think that it had airconditioning as there was a small fan in our room but even though it was warm while we were in Victoria the room was comfortable.

excellent value!

Posted 25-Jul-2015
Pros: the price was outstanding! especially for including FREE Parking and FREE Breakfast.
Cons: can't complain about much, for the price, but it would be nice to have water bottles left for us, both days. just had some on our 1st day.
Location: Location is super!...can walk everywhere! Parliament building, Museum, Imax, Fisherman's Wharf, Beacon Hill Park, downtown shops & Pubs
overall, we were pleasantly surprised upon arrival. we paid such a low price, compared to the rest of the hotels in Victoria's Inner Harbour, we were not expecting much. we had no complaints about anything........

Loved the location, staff was good ,room was dirty and tub did not drain, cups and glasses were not cleaned, tables not wiped floor not swept ,but the view of kitchen worker picking at things ,was the worst, was told we would have air conditioning got 2 fans. It is a shame the place could not be kept up it has such potential

Great location terribly old and dirty hotel

Posted 22-Jul-2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Major refurbishment, air conditioning and cleanliness.
Location: Victoria inner harbour, beacon hill park, parliament buildings, Robert Bateman centre, museum
Location in the inner harbour was fabulous. Easy walking distance to many Victoria attractions. However, this hotel is still over priced despite the location. It is in a terrible need for refurbishment. Our room was dirty (carpet floors filthy, walls splotchy and dust everywhere) and we had two light bulbs out (one without fixtures in the bathroom). There was also no air conditioning and the weather was in the low 30's while we were there. Considering the price we paid we were very disappointed with this hotel. We will not stay here or recommend this hotel to anyone.

Close to harbour and shops

Posted 19-Jul-2015
The check in was very nice but the room was very dirty. Came down to talk to desk staff and ask the room be cleaned and vacuumed very well, it never was, We did see a vacuum in the room across from us so it may need to be fixed! We did have a 1/2 view of the water so that was ok. The breakfast was nothing like posted on the sign. The fresh fruit was canned, the pastries were from Costco, the oatmeal was dried and not even in individual bags. The yogurt was not individual either. The coffee was good when there was some. We went elsewhere for a decent breakfast. Even the bathroom toilet had a ring around it, quite unacceptable. We have stayed in much better hotels in Victoria

Perfect location

Posted 19-Jul-2015
Pros: Location! Close to everything but safe and quiet. Great staff. Historic buildings and lovely grounds.
Cons: Our room was musty and dusty...maybe time for some updating and thorough cleaning. I really noticed my allergies were terrible here.
Location: Across from Inner Harbor. Walk to Laurel Point, Parliament, museums, Empress Hotel, restaurants, downtown, city buses
My grown daughter and I spent a few days in Victoria. I didn't want to rent a car so location was key. Huntington Manor was perfectly situated across the street from the Inner Harbour and a 5 minute walk to all the sights. We were also close to the public bus stop, so were able to easily ride the bus to Butchart Garden. Breakfast was better than average and loved the ambience of the breakfast room or sitting out on patio watching boats and Harbour. Lovely grounds, historic buildings, very safe neighborhood. Close to all the action but just far enough to be peaceful. Great and helpful staff. Chet, the evening front desk staff, patiently answered all our questions, directed us to restaurants, coffee houses, and even helped us figure out which bus to catch. It was a wonderful vacation and Huntington Manor was a big part of it.

Nice for the price

Posted 18-Jul-2015
Great location close to the ferry and all of the tourist attractions. Good breakfast and nice helpful staff. Has free parking. No air conditioning, just fans, but there was a cool breeze from the harbo. Hotel in need of a remodel, but is nice for the price.
