Surprisingly pleasant stay.

Posted 25-Feb-2015
Pros: The staff is very friendly and answered every question I had. I liked the continental breakfast too. and I like the look of the lobby area.
Cons: The bathroom table had visible water damage. It looked like the table was being eaten away by water damage and should be repaired - room 216.
Location: The hotel is central to sites, shopping and food.
I didn't wish to spend a lot on a hotel in downtown. Huntingdon Manor is centrally located near Parliment, the Empress, the BC Museum and the many shops on Government Street and the docks area. I loved the quiet and peaceful rest at the Huntingdon. For the price you cannot go wrong with a clean, comfortable stay, good breakfast, friendly staff and central location. I would return to the Huntingdon and will recommend it for travelers to Victoria.

Great location, great price in Downtown Victoria

Pros: Location, character, kitchen in the rooms, staff
Cons: some items are older, but seemed clean and fine.
Location: very close to inner harbour so easy walking to various sights
Friendly staff, great location, very good price. The building has character and although older, is nice.

Very nice hotel, close to everything

Wonderful experience -- would come again for sure!! Lovely restful lobby and dining room -- with views to a gorgeous inner courtyard. The staff were very helpful, courteous and pleasant. The room was a little small, but comfortably fit two queen sized beds. The hardwood and tile floors were a refreshing change from the usual carpet -- very clean. My friend and I had two restful nights and enjoyed a great "girls' weekend" -- thanks in large part to staying here! The complimentary breakfast and dinner in the restaurant were perfect -- we would definitely be back!

Pleasant stay

Pros: Location, staff, price.
We had a very nice experience. The hotel is not fancy, but it is pleasant, comfortable, and the staff was wonderful. We thought it was a fabulous value. We have spent far more for hotels in the same area. You can't beat the location, especially if you arrive by ferry. It is an easy walk to the ferry and other downtown attractions. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Maybe don't stay here

Staff were very courteous and professional but the room itself wasn't particularly clean and hadn't been renovated since the 1980's

Another Lovely Stay

Posted 13-Jan-2015
Pros: Location and ambience
Location: Close proximity to Fairmont Empress, Parliament, IMAX theatre and the great museum nearby. Easy walk to town. Wonderful setting
We chose this hotel many trips ago to Victoria for its convenience both to Victoria Clipper and Coho ferry. This time we arrived VERY early as the Coho ferry from Port Angeles arrives at 10am. Heather took good care of us and our luggage until the the room was ready, even though 'Check In' is much later in the day. We were given an excellent 2nd floor room overlooking the harbor. Stayed 4 nights and will always remember this trip and this lovely old-style hotel with its English environment.

Christmas break

Posted 07-Jan-2015
This hotel is old. Decor very outdated, room doors scratched up. Beds are very uncomfortable and thin, no comforter and the brown fleece blankets worn out. Old unstable furniture. Tinted greasy windows. Sorry cont. breakfast. The only good 3 things were the location, free parking and nice quality new bath towels.
