The hotel is very convenient and is just across the border from Portland. It is right off the I-5. Though, we did not partake, the hotel does appear to offer free bikes that you can borrow. Amenities and room were acceptable. While we stayed, the hotel was renovating the parking lot. The parking by the main entrance is limited, there is overflow parking, but it is still under construction. The hotel appears older. The room we stayed at had a door that was skewed. We had asked for it to be fixed, and within our two night stay there, it did not get attended to. Overall, the hotel is worth what they charge. I would stay there again.
"Very good motel close to both north/south freeways"
The breakfast was very good, the room very comfortable, but they have a problem with parking. On Saturday night we returned to the motel around midnight and couldn't find a vacant parking stall. There is a parking lot next door that serves another business but that lot has several signs saying our car could be impounded if we park there. I asked the night clerk what we should do and he said that would be up to us since all of the motel's parking stalls were taken. We took the risk and parked in the adjacent lot along with about 6 other motel guests. This was a very uncomfortable experience.
Just what we expected and this is the reason we will continue to stay there anytime we need accommodations. The place is "homey" and just makes you feel comfortable from the first minute you arrive. Room layout is pretty standard but everything works. Shower has excellent pressure and water hot enough to peel your skin if that's what you like. Beds are comfortable with fresh linens always. Offstreet parking is easily accessible and well lit. Stores, restaurants and bars are within walking distance and the freeway ramp is 1/2 mile away. The disadvantage of writing this review is that it will be more difficult to get a room.
While Washington may claim Vancouver as its own, it takes just 20 minutes to drive between the city and Portland’s downtown. Public artworks, including the Salmon Run Bell Tower and Glockenspiel, reference the city’s centuries-old past. Elsewhere, visitors to the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site discover a 19th-century reconstructed fort, replete with furnishings and staff in period dress.
