Pros: location
Cons: cleanliness and service
Location: good, very near to beach
My experience was not good. it really has no service. The only good thing is location is good, which is next to hawa beach. cleanliness was pathetic. even after multiple requests they didn't clean the room. first they told they clean only once in 2 days, when i reminded it is already 2 days, then he said yes he will get it cleaned but never clean. then comes the complementary breakfast, which is nothing. especially if you are veg. because they don't have a counterpart for vegetarians, sorry is all you will listen from them. the room boy will plainly refuse to bring anything from the restaurant. he will say to go and take it from the restaurant directly. And also forgot to tell, the hotel is aptly named Hotel moonlight. because if there is no power, you will have to spend time in moonlight only. the first hotel in mu life which doesn't have a power backup. during my stay the power went off for almost the full day, in-spite of we requesting them to arrange for a backup generator multiple times they didn't. Also they didn't had the courtsey to give candles themselves, that was also offered after asking multiple times. So in short, only go there if you are not with family. otherwise it can be very frustrating.

Nice and very close to the beach. Good attitude from the employees. A best cost effective option.

Pros: Location
Cons: Room cleaning
Location: Hotel is situated approx 100 meters from the main lighthouse beach in Kovalam
Hotel is nicely located, breakfast which was included was Ok. Room was OK with A/C that worked and plenty of hot water. Room had small balcony which was not as nice as some of the other balcony,s. . Overhaul we were happy with hotel only downside was the cleaning of room which was a bit hit and miss.

Do not stay here

Posted 19-Mar-2013 on Hotels.com
I booked this hotel for 7 nights for myself and friends previous to travelling to Kovalam and was horrified with what awaited us on arrival. The hotel had no record of our booking and it was obvious that they did not have rooms for us. After much discussion the gave us 2 rooms which were filty had no electrical power and the showers did not work. Our complaints were ignored by the staff and we were forced to leave the following morning and find alternate accommodation. This hotel is a disgrace to Hotels.com and I have stated this in feedback to them. Thankfully Hotels.com did help with our alternate accommodation when I contacted them. Again do yourself a favour and do not book this hotel.

Cons: Had to remind them to get room cleaned!
Location: Fantastic, one minute from beach
NIce hotel, pool area could have been better. All the staff were very friendly.

The staff were very helpful and friendly, though no way could this be classed as a 3 star hotel- let alone resort! The furnishings were non-fitting- original-rusty-and broken furnishings and a scattering of water bottles and cig packets always around, with no extra care or money spent to make the place alot better than it could be. Shouldn't be on hotels.com listing.

Dirty hovel crawling with insect life

Posted 16-Feb-2013 on Hotels.com
Booked this hotel via Hotels.com. On arrival, the staff were not expecting us and took several hours to find us out two pre-paid rooms. Eventually two rooms became available. Both rooms were basic, with a rusting fridge. Half the lights didn't work, the aircon unit was deafening, the towels looked like they hadn't been cleaned from the previous residents. The bathroom was crawling with tiny ants or mites. We reluctantly stayed the three pre-paid nights, during our stay there was no attempt by staff to clean the room. They reluctantly provided 2 cleanish towels for 4 of us to share. The pool was infested with insect life and with rubbish and glass bottles on the bottom. This has got to be probably the worst place that I have ever stayed and certaily wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The Hotel Restaurant & pool area needed a lot of attention, the pool deck chairs were in need of repair & the adjoining restaurant was rather unclean however the food was ok. The staff were helpful also the Ayurvedic treatments next door at Dr Nishi were top class & the yoga classes with JoyPaul were amazing
