Mostly truckers, and extended stay guests

No real issues, just a place to rest your head while traveling, don't expect much but a decent room at a fair price.

Good for the price

Posted 21-Aug-2014
Pros: Nice area to walk the dog, quiet room, very comfortable bed the second night
Cons: Rooms are a tad bit small, but nice and cozy.
Location: Not much around the hotel for shopping, but there are some restaurants, and everything is pretty handy.
The first night they gave us a room with a queen bed (our reservation said king) and the air conditioning didn't work very well. They were nice enough to move us to a better room with a king bed and air conditioning that worked very well for the second night. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. For the price we paid, I was very happy with the stay. The rooms were well insulated and didn't hear much noise at all.

old crappy motel

Posted 18-Aug-2014
Pros: nothing
Cons: see first paragraph
Location: nothing , in the port area of old Tacoma , dirty .
room was not ready when arrived a 3:30 pm. had to wait for cleaning to finish. no elevator , had to walk up 3 flights of stairs, room key quit working twice in 12 hours, tv did not work , no refrigerator in room. air conditioner so old it ran solid the whole time I was there and temp in room never got below 79 degrees. when I call down to office to get things fixed they told me how to fix them rather than coming and fixing them. overall a real poor place to stay would not recommend to anyone .

Port of Tacoma

Posted 04-Aug-2014
Pros: quiet rooms and comfortable bed
Cons: the exterior needs paint and updating
Location: casino and many restaurants within walking distance. close to the highway.
Not the best neighborhoods, not the best looking on the outside, but the price is right, the rooms are nice and clean, it's very quiet, and the bed is comfortable. breakfast is basic, cereal, waffles, bagels. for a 1 or 2 night place to lay your head this is great.

good place to stay

Posted 02-Aug-2014
Pros: The location was perfect for our needs and the staff was excellent.
Cons: Perhaps putting in smaller furniture so it wouldn't feel so cramped.
Location: The Emerald Queen Casino was a fun place to go. We especially liked the nearness of the freeway entrances as we needed to travel between cities.
The room was clean but a bit crowded with oversized furniture. The environment was quiet and peaceful. Best of all, the staff was very nice.

Handy for the port.

Had business in the port so this was an ideal location. Staff could not be more helpful. They allowed me to park my motorcycle under the entrance canopy for added peace of mind. Other reviews hint at unsavory characters about. They must be paranoid. Just normal people going about their business.

Nice enough hotel, convenient to freeway

Posted 30-Jul-2014
Pros: Rooms are very quiet, heard very little sound from road or other rooms and hotel appeared to be packed, bed was okay.
Cons: TV had to be turned on manually along with volume, could change channels with the remote, bathtub needs repaired w/ curtain, better AC also.
Location: was playing golf, didn't explore anything else except Mall
Pleasure trip, saving myself a longer drive the next few mornings to play golf for a couple of days in the area. Hotel was pleasant, staff friendly & helpful.

Shabby, not chic, nice staff!

Posted 23-Jun-2014
Pros: THE STAFF!!!
Cons: The breakfast could have some protein (yogurt/hard boiled eggs) and the exterior of the hotel really needs some help.
Location: It's quite near the Tacomadome...and for you shoppers, a great DSW a few miles away next to the Trader Joes and a great bakery!
Given the reviews I was not disappointed: the hotel was really outdated, although some attempt was made to freshen up the inside. I was a little concerned about the neighborhood, and the car alarm went off in the middle of the night. Hmmm. For the price, the hotel could be improved on the outside quite a bit. The best part of our stay was the very friendly and helpful staff. Both attendants at the front desk went out of their way to help print us directions and answer questions. They were truly exceptional. As an aside it seems many truckers sort of live there...they were entertaining at breakfast and really nice guys.
