Good location

Posted 31-Jul-2014
Pros: Location.
Cons: Small changes could make a real difference, more towels, better courtesy tray, few repairs, generally more tender loving care.
Location: Bridge of Allan is less than 5 minutes by train to Stirling & 40 minutes to Glasgow. It's an a nice place; quiet but places to eat & a couple of pubs
Bridge of Allan is worth visiting ; close to Stirling, one or two nice restaurants - including one at the hotel. Had a small single room. Overall, okay, but a little tired. Carpet bit grubby; lovely bathroom, but whilst I think fairly new already damaged, e.g. cracked sink. Generally could be much better with a little more effort, e.g. lack of towels - by last day I had one. Courtesy tea, coffee, biscuits not replenished; nothing too worrying but a bit annoying. Staff friendly and helpful.

Great hotel, well located, free car park.

Posted 30-Jul-2014
Pros: Well located, 10 minute walk to the Bridge of Allan railway station, from which the journey into Glasgow Queen St. station is 40 mins. A bus ride to
Cons: Repair doorbell, for guests returning after hotel has locked up.
Location: Limited time, so unable to visit any of the many attractions, including Stirling Castle. But will certainly return to the area. Railways and bus near
We based ourselves in Bridge of Allan, whilst visiting the Commonwealth games in Glasgow. So basically looking for somewhere to rest our heads. We received a warm welcome from the reception staff Ian, who made checking in a breeze. Our room was huge and so was the en suite. We needed some extra clothes hangers and these were supplied on the spot. There was plenty of supplies relating to tea and coffee with a wide selection. Unusually for a British hotel they had a fridge which was an absolute bonus. Breakfast offered a very good selection of foods/juices ( I couldn't resist the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, which was 'delish') in the high street there were a good selection of shops, restaurants and a great fish & chip shop. When I revisit Scotland I will definetly consider this hotel, from which you could drive or use public transport to visit some of the many places of interests.

Centre of Bridge of Allan

Posted 30-May-2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Breakfast
Location: Bridge of Allan Restaurants are 2 minutes walk away Station 5 mins walk
Breakfast, very nice cooked breakfast but only a basic choice of cereals. On one occasion Waiting staff tried to take away plates before we had finished. Be aware that if you stay a Friday or Saturday, the Hotel has a Nightclub (Can't be heard in the rooms) but if you have the bedroom windows open you will get a 3am chorus of drunks in the street outside.

Overnight With Friends

Posted 19-May-2014
Pros: N/A
Cons: The hotel needs updating
Location: There are lots of nice restaurants near by.
The level of service was shocking! There does not appear to be anyone managing what goes on, so nothing much goes on as far as customer service. What was a special celebratory meal for four friends ended up with us having to hound staff for drinks and food. I do not blame the serving staff, they were young and obviously had no training. We will not go back. I pride myself in always focusing on the positives in life, this experience for four good friends celebrating 50th Birthdays was exceptionally poor and had a price tag that was extravagant but would have been worth it in different circumstances.

Good location for Stirling & Doune Castle visits.

Posted 16-May-2014
Pros: The friendliness of staff and up-market room decor as well as the excellent chef and innovative menu. Car parking at rear and elevator for luggage.
Cons: Expedia to correct map routing, please.
Location: Gorgeous Doune Castle is only a few minutes away, and Stirling Castle is close by too.
Very friendly and obliging staff -- made up for not giving us the right room in the first place.

Great stay, friendly helpful staff

Nice room and very helpful staff. Breakfast was also very nice. Stayed now 3 or 4 times good hotel. Hopefully the massive pot holes at car park is fixed; if not be very careful entering the car park as they are huge and hard to avoid.

Hotel near Stirling Uni.

Posted 10-Mar-2014
Pros: Near Stirling University as we had come to see our daughter.
Cons: Turn down the heating.
Location: Central to restaurants (excellent Indian restaurant just over the road), good shops in Bridge of Allan, particularly the whisky shop. Near Uni.
Good quality hotel but this time our room was small and boiling. Adequate for overnight stay, no bath either. Friendly staff and a lovely breakfast.

Dated, shambles and slow

Posted 17-Dec-2013 on Hotels.com
Our room was tiny compared to others in our party with a very smsll and uncomfortable bed. The decor is trying to be more than it is with little things like the wall paper not tinished properly and dirty bathroom floor. Breakfast service was painfully slow. Nit worth the money paid or the 4 star rating.

Lucked out with an upgrade

Posted 12-Dec-2013 on Hotels.com
I stayed here on 3 occasions during november averaging 4 nights per stay. On 2 of these stays I was upgraded to the penthouse which is essentially a flat you'd be chuffed to live in. Had work colleagues that loved the rooms too. Sad to have left but I guess I was spoiled.....
