Pros: The room and bed were very comfortable
Cons: Temperature control was difficult to use
Location: We had a meal at Colours Restaurant in town, which is run by the College and students. The meal was excellent. Town Centre is just a short walk
Stayed for 1 night. The room was very clean and the bed was the most comfortable I think I have ever slept in. The breakfast in the morning was excellent - but don't book it online as it was £10 each but at the hotel it was £5 each when you paid the bill when you first arrived. Would definitely stay again

Lovely Hotel

Posted 20-Jan-2014 on Hotels.com
We stayed at the Chalon Court on a Saturday evening as we were going to a friend's 60th birthday party in the centre of St. Helens. The location was excellent, just a couple of minutes walk from the venue. On checking in, the receptioist was very pleasant and helpful and the room was lovely and spacious, spotlessly clean with a huge comfy king size bed. Breakfast was served until 11.00 on the Sunday which was great as we didn't get back to the hotel until 3.00 am!! We had a great weekend and would definitely stay here again.

Disappointing

Posted 18-Jan-2014
Pros: The room was nice, comfortable and clean. Staff helpful and apologetic.
Cons: Fix everything that's broken and left out of the room and improve the restaurant service along with the menu..
Location: Location ok and next door to a small retail park with fast food outlets/restaurants
Hotel lobby/reception had a bucket in the middle of the floor catching rain water from the leaky roof. Health club pool heating was broken so water was very cold. Jacuzzi was out of order. No towels in bathroom or TV remote in bedroom. Staff did remedy this, but it did cause some inconvenience at the time. Waited outside restaurant for a member of staff to seat/serve me, but gave up waiting and ate out instead. Menu was very basic. Overall, a very disappointing experience, which was a pity as the room was OK.

Central location, poor breakfast

Posted 14-Jan-2014 on Hotels.com
My room was clean. TV worked, Free view LCD, phone did not work. No hangers in room, a quick walk down to reception (lift bust) and they sent 6 round very quickly. Materially the hotel is poor in some areas, the rooms appear to have been refitted in the last year. 3G Vodafone available so no need for WIFI. Breakfast includes cold Tea / Coffee at no extra cost. Don't be vegetarian as you are not catered for even though the menu list's V they don't have it. Would I stay again? Yes as they have a pool and it's in the middle of Town and you can't hear the locals. Eat and drink somewhere else. It's called the Park Inn, it says so on the roof of the Hotel.
