Great Stay!

Pros: Good price, clean and modern
Cons: Nothing
Staff are pleasant, friendly and efficient and very smiley. Rooms are clean, modern and stylish. The shower was excellent, good power but still eco-friendly. Food was good, breakfast was a fine full English. I would stay again. Good value!

A night with small children

Bathroom smelled of cigarette smoke. I reported it but was not offered an air freshener. Had to ask for towels for the children. Lots of kps in the room but only an up lighter and a soft light in the bed head worked. However, the hotel was in a very convenient location, parking was good and we were put in a room close to the lift - great with little tots. The bed was huge and comfortable for two adults and a 2-year old and a lovely little bed was provided for the 4-year old.

ok hotel .. Undergoing refurb

door key fob card didntbwork twice and they had to reissue. Room was ok though table looked old with chippings.breakfast not that great. Can have dinner in town centre- wetherspoons. Overhall hotel just ok but hope better service after refurbishment is complete. Breakfast needs to seriously improve.

Nice hotel

Pros: Nice clean bright , local for the purpose of our stay, reasonably priced .
Cons: Heating system
Second time stayed here, returned because so nice the first time however not so good this time. Stayed 2 nights and had 2 nights very uncomfortable like sleeping in a sauna, despite 3 visits to reception because the room temp was 28th nothing was done to repair heating system . Totally ruined stay this time.

Disappointing stay

Didn't live up to 4*. 2 night stay dogged with problems.Lacked staff.Checkin fine staff helpful,friendly.Room good modern standard,room hot on arrival & air con didn't work.2nd room had same problem.Other rooms had same problem.Given 2 fans & jug of iced water.Hotel restaurant,staffing an issue,carpet needed good hoover.Ordered meals with 2 sides of veg, meals arr minus veg,reminded waiter.He returned sometime later with only 1 side of veg(Did get a refund).Breakfast,general presentation poor,items slow to be replenished.Hot water provided in pump action thermos,nearly empty & barely warm.On tasting tea it was clear thermos previously held coffee & it contaminated water. Result,tea undrinkable but were given pot of hot water.Returned to room to get ready,but no hot water when using sink or shower,only bath tap.Complained to manager,she was apologetic & offered refund on first night & upgraded room for 2nd. Used another room to get ready,hot water in this room,fluctuated from hot to cool. Found a note on mirror warning hotel had a new boiler & they were currently having a few problems. Staff did move us to upgraded room & second night/room was OK.During Grand National event hotels significantly increase prices.Hotel clearly knew about problems but were happy to charge high rates & not inform residents or give discounted rate unless a person complained.On plus side staff did their best to resolve things,friendly & helpful. Quality of food & presentation good.I commend the chef.
