“You can do better”

We stayed in one of the courtyard rooms, which was very small. Simple things could have made this a better experience. There were missing or burnt out light bulbs. All light sconces on the ceiling fan were missing. No breakfast is provided here, in our definition of breakfast. A bowl of apples and oranges was set out each morning, that is all. The window a/c is a foot from the bed, so one side of you froze while the other was sweaty. There is quite a bit of deferred maintenance here. We have stayed in other bed and breakfasts before, and this is nowhere close to what we expected. The owners are very nice, but for what the room cost was (we paid for all 5 nights in advance, so going somewhere else was not an option) we can get nice and a decent facility elsewhere. After spending that much time on Bermuda, there are lots of places to choose from. We wouldn't recommend this one.

Area recommendations
There are many areas of Bermuda with lodging. St Georges is very quiet. Hamilton has more activity. It depends on what you want. We liked the relaxed atmosphere of St George.
Getting around
There are many modes of transportation on the island. Bus, scooters, water taxi, regular taxi. We spent far too much time on the bus. Lots of wasted time sitting. It was too rainy when we were there to rent a scooter. Lots of people do it, not sure we would have anyway. Traffic can be heavy, and the roads are very narrow. Not to mention driving on the left. We took the water ferry on the last day and loved it. Scenic and relaxing, and more efficient than the bus.
Family-friendly activities
We would not advise taking your kids to Bermuda. Other than sight seeing, there is not much to do. I would think a kid of any age would be bored to tears and hate you for taking them.

“stay at aunt nea's inn”

Very expensive for what you get ! Would rather stay next in a resort a bit more expensive but with a view and a swimming pool

Charmant, accueil chaleureux incluant Skye le chien de l'auberge, très propre et très bien situé. Excellent rapport qualité prix. À recommander sans faute.

“A beautiful start to a perfect week”

Charming and quaint with a comfortable room for the rate. A true British B&B. Each room has a differnet layout and decor. The room we had was smaller but we did not request a larger room on purpose. We had a huge tub and shower combination that was very nice to soak into at night. Grounds are well kept and Skyee the dog was amiable. Staff is only on site in the morning, so if you need something the first afternoon you arrive be sure to call them to advise prior to your arrival. Staff was very accomodating and helpful. The breakfast provided is sparse; coffee, tea, whole fruit and granola bar. We had a refrigerator put in our room and purchased foods from the local store for our snacks and breakfast. As the restaurants in the town of St. George's does not serve food after 9:30pm.

Area recommendations
St. George's is a nice historic district. It is very quiet when there is not a cruise ship docked nearby. Restaurants stop serving around 9:30pm and many are closed on Monday's. We purchased snack foods from a local grocery. We rented a scooter for the entire week we were in Bermuda, which served to be the best transportation for us. The taxis are more expensive ($15 to $20 from the airport one way) and are not in abundance in certain locations. The busses stop running around 8pm and are not always going where you may wish to go but are more economical if you have more than two people for the scooter. Get a pass for several days if you do so you can ride the ferry as well. While in Hamilton the scooter worked well as we could commute to the dive shop as well as beaches for swimming and snorkeling. Take a back pack with you as the scooter has a basket for your stuff. I reccommend you make reservations at the restaurants in Hamilton as there were several that were booked. Scuba diving was the best with Tucker's Pointe Diving and Watersports, they are a newer dive shop and not as well advertised which is great because you get the individual attention while diving with them. Terry and his crew did a great job taking us out on different wrecks and reefs each time. Class A diving! Beverages, cookies and towel provided on the boat.

“Just what you'd hope for in a cozy inn”

Great location if you want a relaxed, quiet stay in Bermuda. Just what you'd want in an inexpensive little inn without a lot of amenities: pleasant, helpful staff, clean, comfortable and cozy.

Outdoors or beach
Pleasant, easy walk to beaches and Fort St Catherine

“It's ok”

The staff was nice and pleasant, but the room was so small and the shower is literally next to the bed. The wall needed painting and the needed dusting. It wasn't what I expected. Pros is that they have cable tv. But the island is beautiful.

Area recommendations
Hamilton is the better place to be. Although St. George's is nice and very clean, activities end early but in Hamilton there is a lot more to do.

“Inadequate for the rates”

For the per night rate the hotel is distinctly shabby, the room (The Palm Suite) was disappointing and not really as advertised on their website - photos look as though they were taken 20 years ago; the queen sized bed was worn and very soft. "Breakfast" consisted of tea, coffee, apples and, occasionally, energy bars......not even describable as "Continental". Having said all that St. George's is a beautiful place in a wonderful island - it's too bad there is no other competition except the St. George's Club.

Area recommendations
From St George's use the ferry to get around the island - day or weekly passes cover the ferry and buses and are very reasonable - the ferry ride in itself is a great outing.

“Good value”

The staff was very friendly. This B & B is old, we had a separate cottage. It could use some updating, but was a good value for what we paid. Close to bus stop. 10 minute taxi ride from airport.

“Friendly and Informal”

Whether or not you will like Aunt Nea's depends on how casual you are. If you the type who keeps your windows open at night, enjoys awakening to roosters crowing before dawn, and explores the neighborhood, you'll like Aunt Nea's. If you are the air conditioned, orderly, type of person who feels uneasy with casual, informal settings, you may have different expectations. Aunt Nea's has been a Bermuda fixture for decades. It's a bit worn, but it has a resident friendly dog and a wonderful manager who has enjoyed meeting and helping guests for almost twenty years. So what if the shower isn't quite hot enough or the TV is too small? You came here to experience the local way of living--and this is it.

Area recommendations
St. George, Bermuda, is recommended because of its historic architecture and walk-ability. Begin by exploring the town and nearby coves and beaches. Then expand your horizons by using the bus system. An hour-long bus ride will take you to the far end of the island; shorter trips lead to the capitol city of Hamilton, the zoo, and the pink-sand beach of Horseshoe Bay. Wherever you go, make eye contact and say "Hello" to those who live here. Bermuda is a very friendly, helpful, and polite place.

“Highly recommended Eclectic bed and breakfast.”

in a large chain hotel. Rachel and Maureen make you feel really at home here. Given its location in St George it is very convenient to take a bus anywhere on the island. You can buy a bus pass at the nearby visitors center.
