My family had a great time staying in the Sooke Harbor Resort and Marina. The weather was beautiful in mid-July, the condo was nice and had the necesseties for cooking in the kitchen. The condo was spacious and decorated nicely and had amazing views of the marina from both decks. There is a kayak rental located on the property and the owner is very helpful.

Nicest B&B we stayed in while on the Vancouver Island, only wish we had planned for more days. Christine took excellent care of us and the other guests, amazing breakfast. Wonderful view of the bay while enjoying the morning breakfast, fruit and yogurt, smoked salmon on bagel with Omelets if you have room.
We had a good experience at 4 Beaches B & B. The room was comfy and spacious; The hosts were very kind and accommodating; breakfast was plentiful and delicious. We also enjoyed meeting all the visitors from abroad and from BC. We rated room comfort 3 out of 5 because the noise from the road can be distracting if you have a room facing the ocean as the road is between the B&B and the ocean. However it does stop at night when you sleep. The bed was a bit soft and I think that is an individual's preference.
Everything about our stay was wonderful. It's an hour from Victoria, so it's perfect if you want comfort and quiet away from the city but not too isolated. The B&B is beautifully maintained, with lovely public spaces including seating for a marvelous view of the Juan de Fuca Strait. Stairs lead down through the forest to a beach populated by gulls, geese and seals (weird black slugs on the stairs look like living licorice, not gross, cool!). The breakfast was huge and delicious, and Lori and Andy are gracious and attentive hosts. The wifi worked, which was great because I didn't have phone reception. Lori gave good recommendations for dinner at Point No Point. Highly recommended!

This is one of the nicest places that I've ever stayed at. (And I've stayed at a few over the years)
It didn't start too well as we travelled to Vancouver Island from Vancouver on a Friday afternoon and it was the third ferry before there was space for us to get on (Five and a half hour wait)
We therefore missed the 4 to 6pm check in and due to issues with our UK mobile phone were unable to contact the owner to advise them we were running late and eventually arrived at 9:30pm.
Nothing was too much bother for the owner who was away for the evening and they left our key out for us with instructions to register the next morning.
The facilities, location and views from this property make it an ideal place to relax and unwind.
The finishes were top class and the barbque and hot tub made for an even more relaxing stay.
Also ideal for watching wildlife. We saw deer, raccoons and squirrels in the garden, birds of prey in the trees nearby and overhead and seals in the bay and whales about half a mile off shore.
If we're back in the area I'd have no hesitation in staying at this property.
Our stay at Handsome Dans was excellent. The cottage and facilities were excellent as so was the advice we received from the owner who gave us great tips on where to go locally and what to do. Will definitely be returning there again.
Sooke is comprised of East Sooke and the District of Sooke, two communities that straddle the Sooke Basin. Part of a temperate rainforest, Sooke has a wealth of parks, such as Sooke Potholes Regional Park and Juan de Fuca Regional Park. For centuries, Sooke was a settlement of the Coast Salish Indians. Europeans arrived in the mid-1800s to pursue logging and fishing, still thriving industries.
