It doesn't pretend to be anything it isn't - it's clean, well-maintained, and conveniently located. It is reasonably priced. There were young families on vacation from Europe and retirees there for weddings and a youth group there for a work project during my stay. In short, the people there all felt safe and at home. If you're looking for an exquisite room, look down the road to cannery row, and pay triple the cost. Or save your money, enjoy a nice meal in the area, and leave a decent tip for the help.
Nice little hotel. Flowers outside make for a warm welcome. Room was spacious. Looked like it had just been remodeled. Bed was OK. No WiFi, microwave or coffee maker in the room. Left really early so can't comment on breakfast but looked like it was small. Lots of restaurants and fast food places around. I will put this place on my list of potential overnight stays...
The staff are friendly and helpful. The motel is inexpensive compared to other similar "motels" versus "hotels" in Seaside/Monterey/Sand City/Marina area. The motel is very conveniently located to restaurants, shops and nearby stores. The exterior building needs to be painted and cleaned up. Interior rooms have newly remodeled bathrooms and are clean. The motel is old and the rooms are small, not much that the owners can do about that. The walls are thin so it isn't the most quiet - try to get a room at the back where there is less traffic noise. Everything inside the room is decent for the price. The room comes with a mini fridge and a microwave, which is a nice thing to have. Television in the room is small. I would stay here again if money was tight, and I was just looking for a place to sleep before heading out for a day on the coast. It felt safe and met the need for a place to sleep for a night when traving through Monterey.
I have five kids and I wanted a room that would accommodate all of us. The room that they gave us was clean, and had three beds, more than enough to fit my family! I love the fact that they also allowed late check in as I was not able to check in until 11 p.m. in the evening. They had breakfast in the morning and a laundry room for my clothes. My kids loved the room and enjoyed it! The only drawback was that the ice machine was broken and we really needed ice as it was such a hot summer day!
Seaside and nearby Marina border California State University at Monterey Bay, located at the former Fort Ord. Surfers and tide pool explorers frequent Seaside State Beach and nearby Monterey State Beach. To the south, the compact Monterey Peninsula Airport offers no-hassle connections to larger hubs such as San Francisco and Los Angeles. Drive 10 minutes east for racing action at Laguna Seca.
