Pleasant hotel. Clean & comfortable. Good value for the money. The hand basin would not empty, their solution remove the plug from the room. Microwave had not been cleaned. There was a free breakfast but we didn't go over to get it. The food outlets near were rundown so we ate in Monterey the second night.
Hotel is family run and they live on the property, very nice people honestly. Hotel was very clean and I had zero issues with anything there. Super convenient location to get around by car as you are close to shopping/restautants as well as the highway to get to Downton Monterey but you better not be a lite sleeper as it is right on the road and traffic does zip by regularly. If you are looking for a 5 star don't bother, but if like me you just need a comfortable clean room that's convenient then go for it!

Basic hotel - good for the price. Room was clean, bathroom floors/shower updated with tile. Really liked the semi-circular shower rod to maker the shower area appear bigger (shower curtain didn't stick to me!). Flatscreen TV, beds were ok (a little firm). Med. size frig & microwave in the room. Waffle maker in the breakfast area along with toast, juice, coffee, cereal. Small breakfast area, but it worked fine for us. Staff very friendly & helpful. Short run (10 mins) to the Monterey walking/bike trail & ocean. Only down-side was the room smelled a little musty.
For the price, I thought this place was well worth it. The staff was nice and willing to wait up late for me, the room was clean and the hot water never ran out! Recommend it for someone who wants to spend most of their time in the city, and only needs a place to put your head at night.
In an area of high prices, the place was very good. It was clean and quiet, close to restaurants and access to Moterey/Carmel. Black Bear Diner is very close and a great place for good food, reasonably priced.
