It is less expensive then downtown...

Posted 22-Jul-2015
Pros: Less expensive and the free bikes to tour the city.
Location: We were mostly there for a business convention.
There is not much that The Good Hotel can do about this, but the area seems to be where all of the homeless go. If you do not mind walking past people sleeping and living on the sidewalks, you can save a little money. The room had no individual heating/cooling control. We had to open the storm windows - which were jammed. With the screens you then hear all of the street noise and loud music at nights from the apartments across the street. The area is a very bad representation of the United States for international travelers.

Close to main shopping area

Posted 08-Jul-2015
Pros: Well situated
Cons: It was a little "tired" and needed maintanence
Location: Close to all shopping areas and public transport
The hotel was well situated for central San Fran, shops and public transport but for a single traveller the amount of vagrants, both on their own and in gangs was very intimidating. Many of them were very threatening and this will unfortunately be my lasting impression of San Francisco

Pet friendly and easy stay

Posted 02-Jul-2015
Pros: We had to find something pet friendly for our animals, this place was nice and pet friendly.
Location: Since we got in so late we were hungry but had no means of transportation yet, there was a subway right near the hotel.
We were moving from Taiwan to Utah and needed a place to stay over night with our dog and cat. There was a $25 pet fee, which wasn't a big deal, but we only stayed for a total of 12 hours, just so we could get some sleep before the next stretch of the journey. We checked in around 10pm, check in was quick and painless. We got settled in the room. The room was clean and nice, nothing super fancy, but decent. It isn't in the nicest of areas, but it wasn't sketchy or uncomfortable. The parking lot was very small so when we had to get our car loaded up and out the next morning that was a tad tricky. They do have overflow parking with a sister hotel across the street. Overall decent stay, nothing fancy, but the price was right.

Neighborhood is not ideal, although central.

Posted 01-Jul-2015
Lots of homeless and panhandlers hanging out nearby. Would not walk around this neighborhood at night alone. Room was clean, and bed comfortable for a quick one night stay.

There was not a refrigerator in the room. This was the worst part of the room. It is a small room relatively to common hotel rooms. Location is good and close to everything you will look for in San Francisco.

Close to public transportation

Posted 01-Jun-2015
Pros: environmental friendly
Cons: Parking is tight and expensive
Toured San Francisco for two days so looked for a hotel that was not so expensive. I only stayed in hotel at night because during the day I was out in the city. The room is good if you are trying to save money and are not staying there for a long time. Public transportation is really close by.

Good hotel in the heart of downtown

Posted 14-May-2015
It's a good hotel. Nothing fancy about it but the location is ideal for exploring the Bay Area. Downtown can get scary from one block to the next. This hotel is on one of the good clean blocks. Public transportation is wonderful around there. Get anywhere in the Bay Area in 20 minutes or less

good spot

This is a nice, affordable place to be located near Moscone Center or Union Square, for the right price.

Angels vs. Giants

Posted 05-May-2015
Pros: They have a room key only elevator and stairway.
Cons: if the parking lot is full you have to park across the street at the best western
Location: Great location for breweries/tasting rooms and clubs/bars
I went to see the Giants vs. Angels game...The room was clean and it was a great location for walking to different breweries a little far for the game but if you take pit stops along the way a.k.a. the breweries...it was fine...If you wanted to go anywhere in the city the uber ride was never more than 8-10 dollars. The late night staff especially Dave who helped us with some late night delievery pizza....everybody was really nice at the hotel and I felt safe.
