Nice place to cheap stay in DT SF

Posted 01-Jul-2014
Pros: Clean and easy.
Cons: In my room was a strange smell.
Location: Everything is close!
Nice area, close to BART and Marker St. I was on pride weekend even though the hotel was quiet and i could have rest.

Close enough to Moscone and affordable

Posted 29-Jun-2014
Pros: Convenient location and room.
Cons: WIFI speed and signal strength.
I liked the hotel but found the WIFI to be a trickle. Neighbourhood is a bit sketchy too. Very close to BART station which makes the trip from SFO very straightforward.

budget hotel, but not budget priced

Posted 18-Jun-2014
This place is fine, clean, inoffensive. But they charged over $300 for a slightly more design-y room no more comfortable than a best western. The handicapped shower seat would not fold up, making the useable space tiny. The beds are double. The music aspect of the clock radio didn't work.

Good Hotel, not so good area

Posted 10-Jun-2014
Pros: Good price. Good staff and simple room.
Cons: Just the neighborhood and that seems unlikely.
The Good Hotel was a satisfactory motel like experience. We stayed in the Courtyard which has a/c which is a plus for many, even in SF. It was clean and neat. The rooms were small but adequate. When I asked if I could keep something in the hotel refrigerator, they had a refrig in my room in 10 minutes. We asked for and received a blow dryer, extra pillows and band aids. The staff was courteous and helpful. The location was on the edge of sketchy neighborhood and I would not have been comfortable walking in the immediate area without my husband. But otherwise, the location was convenient. It was a half hour walk to the embarcadero farmer's market.

Small, expensive (but what isn't in SF)

Posted 08-Jun-2014
Pros: The location was good as we were going to a conference at the Moscone Center
Cons: The price could be lowered
Location: There is lots of good food around and a small craft brewery just around the corner. Sketchy at night
The hotel is fine, clean, the shower didn't drain very well, but no big deal. Good hotel is located at the edge of what we learned is the sketchiest part of SF. Bad area, going up to the tenderloin or nob hill area at night means passing an uncountable number of crack heads. Even in the daytime (2pm on a Sunday) its not the nicest place, a man who claimed to be from Memphis angrily stated in a pharmacy to my friend after he wouldn't give him $8 "If I lived here, I would stab every last white person in sight!" So we promptly left. Everywhere smells like urine and dog crap, but going to a fancy hotel in that area won't fix that problem.

You can put lipstick on a pig but it's still a pig

Posted 29-May-2014
Pros: I appreciate that they made it "eco friendly".
Cons: better beds. cheaper rates for what you are getting.
Location: location was not great but was close enough to stores and food to get by.
They tried their best to make an old beat up hotel look contemporary but there is only so much you can do aside from bulldozing it and starting over.

Good Hotel is not bad

Posted 23-May-2014
I got a good room, slightly bigger than the rest of my team. Liked having a shower and no bath. Liked the style of my room.

Not bad of a place.

I did enjoy the location of the hotel in relation to my conference location in the Metreon. It is located in the Tenderloin District of San Francisco, which is an interesting place. A mixture of different classes of socio-economics and in all honesty, psychiatric disorders. I am an occupational therapist and I do not work in the field of psychiatrics, but what I can recall from studying the DSM-IV when I was in school, I was sadden by the neglect of our mental health system. The hotel is small and quant and provides parking. Parking is $30/day, which was not bad I guess. The rooms were cozy to my standards, which does not say much considering I sleep on the floor in my house. They are an eco-friendly hotel!

More like a Good Motel than Good Hotel.

Posted 02-May-2014
For the price that its worth, add just $20 more and you got to stay at a 4-star hotel in Union Square. FYI, I didn't prolong my stay here. Paid for $197 for this hotel with no air conditioning. Moved out the next day to Parc 55 for $220. In addition, all the receptionists were apparent that they were not trained well and lacking in their own motto, "smile to change the world."
