“Weekly labor housing”

Could not find the motel initially because someone months ago had run the sign over...the car's bumper was still in the heap of rubble out front. Filthy room, cigarette marks on the furniture, but the linens were clean and there were no insects evident, plus I had gotten in late, so didn't want to hunt for another room on game night in a college town. I had to sleep in my clothes as I was afraid to expose myself to the place. The owners were quite cordial, and in their defense, everything worked, there was hot water, a working TV, WIFI, and at least the linens and towels were recently laundered. The owners and I both were awestruck that Expedia even listed this property in the first place. They had not had an overnight guest in some time. When I arrived, all the rooms were taken by weeklies, but they did keep one room vacant "just in case" so I got that one.
