“Great Hotel...small room but very characteristic!”
This hotel is not super close to the Leaning Tower but if you don't mind a 5-8 min drive it is close enough! It is walkable with a good map, as long as the weather is nice. I love the feel of staying somewhere where there is history. With this hotel being a former convent, you get a peaceful feeling when staying. The room was a lot smaller than expected but comfortable for my family of 3 to sleep and a few other neccessities. It is also close to the train staion and airport! Great stay!!!
“Shower is a dealbreaker”
This hotel is a pretty nice one, fairly convenient, with great grounds and very friendly, knowledgeable staff and a reasonable value restaurant. It's only about a fifteen minute walk to the town center, and another fifteen minutes to the Leaning Tower and Duomo. It would be fine if you were staying one or two nights. The shower was a deal-breaker. It's square and maybe three feet (MAX!) on each side. I'm not a big person (5'9", 160#), and I kept banging elbows, shoulders, hips. It took a mighty effort not to fall out of the shower. I wouldn't go back.
“Can't wait to go back.”
The ambience of this Monastery is lovely and the tranquilty is wonderful. It is also within walking distance of everything in Pisa. Fully recommended!!! Dave
“peaceful, quiet and monastery like”
Awesome place....:)
“Unique and peaceful.”
I really liked this hotel and will definitely go back. The rooms are not luxurious (it's a former monastery) but they are perfectly comfortable and very clean. I was sharing a bathroom so was pleasantly surprised to find a plumbed in washstand in my room as well. There's a large courtyard in the middle where you can have a drink and food in the evening. The pizzas are good. It is worth noting though that this hotel is the other end of the town from the main sights - at least 20 minutes walk - so if you're staying in Pisa one night purely to go up the tower, you may want something closer.
“Calm ambience”
A good simple hotel. The croissants at breakfast were very good The pizza we had at the restaurant one evening was the worst I have had. This was doubly disappointing as it was in Italy.
“Beautiful building”
It is a bit of a walk to the centre, 15mins to centre, 25-30 to the Duomo but it is such a beautiful building and very good value. They do dinner in the cloister which looked stunning and very good value although we didn't try it. Another plus, free parking.
“Off the beaten path”
A 15 minute walk from the rail station, not as convenient as many other choices. Also a ways from Pisa's main tourist sights. Nice, quiet neighborhood (BUT in the flightpath of the Pisa airport, calms down after 10 pm). Beautiful grounds, historic 13th century building. Bistro on site, OK food but very slow service, staff seemed overwhemed serving more than 6 tables. Desk staff generally quite helpful, English spoken by all.
“Very peaceful.”
Loved the old monastery feel and old cloisters but make no mistake underneath this is a well run & maintained hotel with it's other best asset besides the buildings, the lovely staff. If i have a dislike it's the trek to the bathroom & I never realised the one I used was the mens. but it's a small price to pay to stay in such a great atmosphere as this old building. The staff were excellent & they made it feel special, being very friendly, helpful and efficient.
“Satisfied with the Hotel”
From the train station take bus 13 and it will leave you pretty close to the hotel. There are also signs that show you the direction you need to walk to find it. Wifi is only near reception and some of the little courtyard. You have to get a password from reception. The room was simple but effective. It had a washstand which was a welcome surprise. The bathrooms are outside of the rooms at the end of the halls and are not mixed. I did find it weird that there was no hand soap to wash your hands in the bathroom. There were soap/shampoo dispensers in the showers though. The keys for your room have a big heavy circular pendant attached that have your room number and the name of the hotel. It isnt that far of a walk from the middle of town maybe only 5 minutes or so. I would recommend it to anyone going to Pisa, it was nice.

Area:
Pisa, Italy: Many churches, bridges and fading palazzi adorn this ancient maritime city, but most visitors have eyes for just one building. Pisas famous Torre Pendente (Leaning Tower) seems to defy the laws of physics, which Galileo tested with weights dropped from its summit. Even without its recently stabilized tilt, this marble bell-tower would be an architectural marvel. Two ornate pulpits are highlights of the Duomo and Baptistery nearby.
