“Will return to this Hotel”
The hotel is not shiny and new but it's quiet....staff are friendly and helpful. The beds are very comfy. I don't usually sleep well when away but I did here. I noticed maintenance around so they are quick on things. It was also nice to have a small' breakfast only' restaurant to start out your day. I would have to give it a 3.5 out of five. The only improvement would be maybe higher standards for some maintenance...ex. regrouting tile around the tub area...but it has a computer room, laundry room, conference room and a small pool. We had no complaints about our stay here. And there is public transportation (FREE neighbourhood shuttles) in the area for getting around too. But it is not "downtown" ...a little off the beaten path but very reasonable price wise to make up for that. thank you
“An oasis in a difficult economy”
The hotel is a step back in time to when this area was the "SPOT". They still have a manual cash register at the bar. The grounds are nice as were the rooms. The staff was fine. If you are looking for an inexpensive option, this is the place. I wish them better luck with the surrounding economy. Try the nearby Papago Brewery for a totally unique experience.
“Great place to stay...”
The absolute most comfortable bed! Hated to leave... The location is very convenient, room was always very clean, people friendly... I would definitely stay here again.
“Win on some counts and lose on others...”
We reserved three nights at this hotel in mid-August while traveling to other parts of Arizona. The first night we were given a 2nd floor room that was tastefully furnished, very clean, quiet and very pleasant. Since we were returning in a one-week period, I made a special request for the same 2nd floor room and a friendly female staff member said that she would do her best to fulfill my request. One week later on our return to the hotel for the remaining two nights, a male staff member on duty informed me summarily that "everyone else had already checked in before us" and that "no 2nd floor rooms at all were available." I pleaded our room was prepaid and that I had made a special request the week before for our previous upstairs room, but to no avail. We were then assigned a downstairs room that was unbelievably noisy--not from people talking or playing music etc., but rather from thin walls and sounds of noisy showers, faucets and a toilet emanating from the room immediately upstairs all night long. The next day we checked out early (and forfeited the final night) even though we had prepaid for it through Expedia. Despite the hotel's lovely surroundings, including a delightful aviary, lots of grass, a pool, and lovely room furnishings, and its proxmity to the beautiful Papago Park in Phoenix, etc., we would be reluctant to return there.
“could be better”
room was actually small and gave me the impression of being confined to tight quarters. given the amount of time for our stay it was perfect meaning wouldnt recommend it if your stay is over a long period and have company. The beds were comfortable and just right for good nights rest
“Clean Upgraded Room but VERY noisy! Kids, birds and fountain too loud”
This was a hotel my husband and I just got for the night as we were passing by Arizona and for the price it was ok. We got there at 2:30am and they checked us in very quickly, got a nice, comfy and clean room. The pool view/ garden area looks great at night! Then again we were there to sleep and go on right the next day so we just wanted a place for a good night's sleep which did not exactly happen. At 7am the next morning I was woken up by several chirping birds (they have a big birdcage in the middle of the garden) and a fountain. Also some kids were in the pool shouting and talking loud in the morning when people were still trying to sleep (parents, please be respectful of other people with your kids when staying in hotels!). Needless to say we got up early and headed out to continue our journey. Clean room, comfy bed but noisy place. Would not stay there again.
“If you can't afford much ...”
... and also don't mind some noise (old air conditioner, neighbors) AND want to risk getting a so-so bed, stay here. Our bed had "dead" springs on one half of the bed and I felt like I was falling all night due to this impression. I did report it when we checked out, along with the blue gum someone had left hanging from the wall, to one side of the bed - it was pretty obvious (and blue) to me. On the other hand, they have painted the rooms inside and it did look better than when we stayed here 3 years ago.
“will definitely stay here again”
The pool area was charming, with the large bird cage full of parakeets, the choice of music, and the outdoor seating. Room was recently remodeled, very clean, very comfortable bed. A bit tight, but abundance of mirrors and choice of lighting made it feel more spacious. Staff was friendly, easy going. Not a stuffy place. If you don't appreciate 50's and 60's music, you might not enjoy the pool area as much as I did. But it wasn't loud or obnoxious. Quiet rooms. We loved and will make a point of coming here again.
“"Would definately use this hotel again"”
The room was well furnished and decorated, a very well kept inner garden with pool and palms, friendly staff and nice breakfast cafe. Close to downtown Scottsdale and Botanical gardens. This hotel is excellent value for a low price tag!
“Hotel satisfactory, but didn't receive room that I reserved”
Reserved a room with a King Bed, but received a room with 2 queens.
