Excellent location to see Paris

Posted 29-Jul-2014
Pros: Location and friendly staff.
Cons: Change of room carpet
Location: Walking distance to the Louvre and Musee d'orsey.
A mere 5 - 10 minute walk to the Louvre. Located in a safe neighbourhood, good for a family with kids. Lots of good restaurants close by.

Great location. We were able to walk to the Opera, The Louvre and the gardens. The room was small but comfortable. The staff were very helpful, assisting us with our bags and calling a taxi when I injured my hip and needed hospital emergency care. We loved the experience.

Comfortable, clean, and quiet

We had a triple that faced the courtyard. As a result, there was no street noise (the hotel is on a side street which isn't very noisy anyway). It's a couple of blocks to the Pyramides Metro Station and within walking distance of the Opera House, the Louvre, and many other sights as well as restaurants.

Close to Metro -clean, but dated.

Clean, Anne at front desk was amazing and helpful. Room was small and dated (it is Europe though). Wifi makes you log back in each time your phone goes to sleep, also have to get a new wifi signal every 24 hours. Very close to metro stops. Overall good experience.

Walking distance to famous Parisian sights

Posted 31-Jul-2013
Pros: The location. It's in the Opera district, very close to the Louvre; surrounded by restaurants; close to the Pyramides train station.
Cons: First 2 nights we were on the 1st floor with no AC. Unbearable in the July heatwave. Moved to the 2nd floor with AC. Toilets in both rooms leaked.
Location: Close to the Louvre, Opera House, Royal Palace, Tuileries Garden, etc. Many Japanese restaurants on our street, including a Korean grocery store.
Reasonably priced for a boutique hotel. Great location and accessible on foot to many Parisian sights. In the summer, don't stay on the first floor where the rooms do not have air conditioning. Road noise from open windows makes it difficult to sleep. Closed windows make for stuffy room despite well-intentioned table fan. The french shutter door views to the street makes for fun people watching. We moved to the second floor with air conditioning. Despite being in the back of the building with no views, we loved the cool air and quiet. Don't expect amenities in this older historical establishment. Bring your own shampoo. Toilets in both of our rooms leaked and the floors are always wet in the morning. I told the front desk when we checked out, since nobody had said anything before. I would stay there again, but would check to make sure the facilities are in working order before settling in.

Pros: Location was good
Cons: Shower not draining, small bathroom
Location: Location was great in the Opera region - close to metro and lots of restaurants
The water didn't drain out of the bath. The bathroom was so tiny you couldn't turn around without getting a bruise. A room for three was smaller than what we saw of double rooms. They need to swap the triple room into one of the doubles.

We go to the hotel and were amazed to find that the room's air conditioner was out of order. 28 degree Celsius, so that's over 80 Farenheit and all they said they would do was get us a fan. You couldn't move in the room as you broke out into a sweat. The front desk person was quite apologetic and phoned the owner multiple times on our behalf as we could not stay in that room. The owner was adamant that we stay for the 4 nights booked but as I explained to them, if the toilet was not working we would not have to stay in that room, but to no avail, she was adamant that we stay and use the fans. So we cancelled and ended up paying one night , so stay away... the place is old and cramped, we moved to a Best Western close to Point Neuf for the same price and much better service, room etc. Again....STAY AWAY

Small but good price and experience for the money.

Pros: Close to attractions
Cons: Hard uncomfortable bed
Location: Great walking distances to many attractions (10-25 minutes) FYI walking is faster than driving
Very friendly staff, room cute and clean, good location and walking distance to many areas of interest. Bed was very hard and uncomfortable though, my only complaint. Small but good price and experience for the money.
