“if I will back to Panama I will go exactly to the same hotel again”
Everything was excelente
“What a great location!”
The hotel room was large and it was very comfortable. The most important thing however was the location. It was great!
“Worst hotel experience”
I have stayed at many hotels around the world and this is the only one that left a bad taste in my mouth. The main reason we chose this hotel is because they claimed to have fast wireless Internet, which we needed to make reservations. Well, the internet didn't work - the signal was so weak that we couldn't even connect. The hotel's rooms are dark and gloomy with windows facing a wall and covered with a black screen, giving a feeling of a prison cell. The building is old and the old ACs are hard to regulate. The windows are single pane and let all the street noise in. The breakfast is dismal. Front desk staff is rude and defensive instead of helpful. Overall, this hotel is a rip-off. You can find a much better place to stay in El Cangrejo (even on the same Calle D!) for the same or lesser price (which is what we did eventually).
“Perfect for us”
The room were large, well-appointed, clean, well-air conditioned and quiet. The central location in El Cangrejo was perfect for us, near numerous restaurants and bars and well-positioned for taxis to old town and Albrook airport. The breakfast at the hotel was average at best, but the rooftop swimming pool offered a nice respite from the heat. There are probably cheaper alternatives, but this was a great and comfortable place from which to base our Panamanian travels. We stayed here at the the beginning and end of our trip and would recommend it to others.

“Quiet sanctuary in centre of Panama City”
We are 2 guys, 35 and 45, travelling for a year. Wanted a little quiet time in Panama City (9 nights in Nov 2010) after 3 weeks in Cuba. Ambassador Suites was fine. Kitchen (though no pots, pans, toaster - just a microwave and fridge and utensils), large seperate living room, and large bedroom with king bed. Quiet. Extremely central. Use 'powergym' down the road, don't expect anything from the hotel gym. Some of the staff are bored, some are great. Breakfast was ok, but minimal. Good cheap breakfast in surrounding cafes. WiFi was fast. Decore about 5 years ago, but good enough.
“Great, except what others have mentioned already about the view”
Very clean, seems almost out of place for the location. I've stayed in better locations in the city, this isn't the nicest, but for the price I think it's a bargain. The rooms are very nice, the only issue is of course, the view if you have a side facing room. If you don't mind covering the view, then this won't be an issue for you.
