Kalani is Hawaii's largest retreat center, one of the best-loved centers in the world for more than 35 years. The property is proudly and professionally run as a 501(c)(3) charity. Your stay here enables education and cultural preservation in the poorest district in Hawaii, and a portion of your stay here is tax-deductible.
Visitors from around the world come for our personal and group yoga retreats and our colorful mix of performing arts, nature, adventure, and diverse programming. We are celebrated for our meals - mostly organic, local, and both healthy and delicious, all served on an open-air dining lanai.
Life is exuberant on Kalani’s 120 acres of organic agriculture, preserved heritage, and retreat accommodations. Exuberant in fiery lava, invigorating ocean, tropical foliage, and exuberant too with people celebrating the spirit of aloha.
Only five miles away you'll find the spectacular Volcanoes National Park, where the lava flows into the sea. We are blessed to be upwind, so we have no vog (volcanic smog) here, just the sweet, clean air of the Northeast Trades coming across thousands of miles of Pacific Ocean, considered to be the cleanest air on earth.
In addition to our world-class workshops, you will have access to our ongoing program of more than 50 classes a week. We feature twelve different styles of yoga in stunning jungle and oceanview studios; Hawaiian culture classes, including hula, lauhala weaving; performing arts, including aerial; and concerts and events which are held at our community performance space, EMAX.
When it's time to relax, enjoy our pool, sauna, and hot-tubs, a walk through our 125 acres of jungle hiking trails, or a wellness treatment from our professional therapists.
