Within walking distance to Oxford town centre

Posted 17-Dec-2014
Pros: Warm, welcoming and clean.
Cons: Everything was fine.
Location: Take a tour with a registered tour guide, not the ones on the street.
We enjoyed a weekend away to coincide with the Christmas market, fantastic place and wonderful city.

This B&B was very nice. I'll stay here again when in Oxford.

Very small room in comfortable hotel.

Posted 23-Nov-2014
Pros: The Victorian house was very attractive and well-decorated.
Cons: More hanging space should be provided in the single room I had.
Location: The hotel is in a fairly quiet part of North Oxford.
Single travellers must expect a very small room - there was no space for a wardrobe in mine. There was a Norwegian hanging device on the wall, but its advantages were not explained to me and in any case it was obstructed by a chair. The room was, however, otherwise well-appointed, with a view of the lawn. Breakfast was good, with vegetarian options. I was on foot and think the web site should say the hotel is twenty minutes' walk from the town centre, not fifteen.

Top notch B&B

Posted 29-Oct-2014
Pros: Clean and comfortable, with old world charm. Although on a busy road, windows were double-glazed so it was very quiet. Fantastic breakfast!
Cons: It's a small detail, but I would have liked a comfy chair in the room and one more towel.
Location: Walk away from the centre for a good choice of restaurants in Summertown. Within easy walking distance of Natural History/Pitt Rivers museums.
Lovely hotel in a beautiful old house that felt spacious and luxurious to stay in. Staff were friendly and helpful, and we were very satisfied with our choice for a long weekend in Oxford.

Too small and overpriced

Posted 10-Oct-2014
Pros: Location
Location: Blenheim Palace is well worth visiting as well as Blechley Park for anyone that is interested in the code breakers of WW2
This was certainly a disappointing experience for us. The room we booked was so small and claustrophobic even though this was described as a classic room. There was no hanging space except for 3 coat hangers suspended on a wall hook, the bathroom was tiny, hardly room to dry yourself and for a couple with 2 suitcases it was challenging juggling space to fit in. It would have better to have some windows open on arrival to at least have some fresh air in the room as this would have helped feel less claustrophobic and alleviate the 'bathroom cleaning product' smell. Be forewarned there is no lift so you will need to carry suitcases multiple stairs. The breakfast was ok and the ladies serving it were helpful enough. The positive is the location as it is close to Oxford central and the bus stop is basically outside the door. For a B&B this lacks a personal touch.

Lovely B&B with good breakfast.

Posted 30-Sep-2014
Pros: Historic building, set up as B&B.
Location: Bit far to walk, 20 min to city centre, another 10 min to Station. Bus station 100 met. away, £1.60 to city. Walking distance to all Colleges etc.
The university town of Oxford with all the historic buildings is great for sightseeing.

The photos are slightly misleading

Posted 01-Sep-2014 on Hotels.com
Expensive for what is is. Shower was dreadful, windows were single glazed and so the 'classic' room I had next to the road was quite noisy from traffic, and the place generally just looked a little tired. Breakfast was ok. It was unpleasant in any way, but for the money I paid I was not particularly impressed - most hotels charge around the same amount and you get a lot more for your money! I certainly wouldn't call it a 4* B&B per their website

Very small rooms

Posted 19-Aug-2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel was clean and staff were friendly but the superior room was very small and the walk into town is over a mile and more like a 30/40 minute walk than 10/15 minute advertised.
