Very good B&B

Posted 24-Mar-2015
Pros: As above.
Cons: Nothing of any importance.
Location: We visited the Ashmolian museum in Oxford, then drove to Woodstock and pleasant countryside.
Well maintained and well-appointed B&B with a touch of class. Gave up the office so we could get changed for a wedding, as we arrived too early for our room to be ready. Bedroom compact (we got the last one) but spotless and comfortable. Good well-cooked breakfast in nice dining room. Pleasant welcome and departure. Would definitely recommend (as it was to us).

Quiet hotel, easy access to Oxford centre.

Posted 23-Mar-2015
Pros: Helpful, welcoming staff, up-to date decor in a character building. Excellent breakfast. A small but pleasant and clean room.
Cons: I appreciate bed softness is a personal preference but this was the hardest bed I have ever experienced in a hotel!!
Location: Located on main road into Oxford but no traffic noise problem Restaurants within very short walk or 15-20 min walk into the city centre with
One night stay, A very pleasant, quiet hotel a short walk from the city centre.

Two days in Oxford

Posted 05-Mar-2015
At the beginning of March we had a one night stay. It is a lovely B&B, about 20 mins walk into the centre. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast delicious.

Great place to stay in Oxford

Posted 31-Dec-2014 on Hotels.com
Off to a bad start as we were given the wrong code to get in the front door. No info in room and had to ask for a hair dryer, which should have been in our room. What a wonderfully warm and comfortable Hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful, beautiful bedroom and very cosily decorated. For breakfast we had a Full English and Vegetarian breakfast which were not only freshly cooked but beautifully presented. We will be returning.

I refuse to help you with your bag!

Posted 19-Dec-2014 on Hotels.com
I refuse to help you with my bag because I am racist! MOST handicap unfriendly Bed & Breakfast establishment at the corner of Linton Road and Banbury Road in Oxford. Parklands B & B is fairly comfortable…BUT when I stayed in Room 38 on the 4th and highest floor, I climbed 35 steps & 4 flights of stairs! I arrived at 20:08. On Sat at 20:52, I asked a staff called Laura very politely to help me bring my bag down. Laura refused. I asked her if she had any medical reason not to help me.I merely asked her nicely to HELP me carry my bag down together. Laura said, “No, I have no medical reason…it is health and safety!” Laura then said vehemently & shouting, ” I am NOT going to help you with your heavy bag!” Laura said this without even having a look at my bag! I was extremely annoyed at her unhelpful & offensive attitude. Then an English/Caucasian lady arrived to check-in and Laura was very nice to her & carried the medium sized bag of the English lady upstairs. I told Laura of my extreme displeasure and said this is Racism. You help an English person but not a Chinese person! Laura flew into a maniacal rage and shouted at me, “Leave now! I’ll call the Police!” I ignored her imbecilic and wrathful raving and ranting. I told her firmly I had done nothing wrong & she who was totally at fault. Parklands is not disable friendly at all! If you have problems with arthritis or rheumatism and joint problems too, I advise you not to stay here.

Within walking distance to Oxford town centre

Posted 17-Dec-2014
Pros: Warm, welcoming and clean.
Cons: Everything was fine.
Location: Take a tour with a registered tour guide, not the ones on the street.
We enjoyed a weekend away to coincide with the Christmas market, fantastic place and wonderful city.
