Nice hotel, close to the beach!

Posted 27-Aug-2014
Our stay at the Days Inn Mariner was perfect. In an ideal location, close to the beach, it is also very close to the fishing piers and best restaurants in the area! We enjoyed our stay here!

Great Location! Older hotel, outdoor corridors

Posted 19-Aug-2014
Pros: Location! Walk out to beach / ocean front
Cons: Needs modernized, updated. Needs a good cleaning, carpets, & walls
Location: A few cool little restaurants and bars nearby
Perfect location right on ocean/beach front. Older style hotel with outdoor corridors. Rooms fairly clean, not very updated. Bathroom (toilet, tub, shower) rather small, vanity outside bathroom door

Nice and Easy

Posted 16-Aug-2014
Pros: It was kept clean and it was close to the beach
This is a good place to stay for a quick trip. The continental breakfast was one of the more sparse of all the hotels I've stayed at, but it was nice to get something quick in the morning before hitting the beach. The maids did a great job cleaning up the room every day. The location was great--Kill Devil Hills is sort of central to the strip of the beach.

Not really as expected

Posted 16-Aug-2014
Pros: Large room, easy to self cater.
Cons: Cleanliness and condition of kitchen and bathroom cupboards. Full size coffee mugs and real glasses please.
Location: Very close to food lion, loads of food outlets, attractions such as crazy golf and movie cinema
We booked this hotel because it was right on the beach. When we checked in we were told that our room was across the road in the annex and no other rooms were available. The room itself was huge and, as it turned out, having a full kitchen was great (full oven, full fridge, coffee maker toaster, saucepans and crockery - tiny, take your own mugs and wine/beer glasses!) Being across the road was not a huge problem for us but it would not be easy with small children as there is no proper sidewalk so not particularly safe. It's actually much quieter than in the main block and has nice chairs on the front veranda. The bedding and towels were clean but the kitchen was tired to say the least, as was the bathroom. We went to check out breakfast one morning but didn't bother again. There are loads of places nearby to stock up and self cater or eat out. Breakfast was toast, basic cereal, porridge and a waffle maker. The beach was great and the lifeguard tower was right outside the hotel. Not bad on a budget, plenty of space!

Right on the ocean!

Posted 03-Aug-2014
Pros: Very nice and clean!
Cons: Rollaway beds could be updated.
Location: Very close proximity to lots of restaurants, shops, and the Wright Brothers Memorial.
Right on the ocean, with a lifeguard station right there. Pool very nice, and clean. Room was very clean, and smelled clean. Room was small, but just fine because we were not their to stay in the room. We had a roll away bed for our daughter, who is 7. The mattress on the roll away was all springs, and no cushion. We took the comforter off one bed, and put it under sheet for fluff. She didn't mind at all and slept fine. It would not have worked for an adult tho.

Great experience

Posted 02-Aug-2014
Pros: Almost everything.
Cons: I really think housekeeping should pop into each room everyday regardless of whether or not the party is checking out that day or not.
Location: Take a stroll in the evening on the beach, or walk to one of several fantastic local restaurants nearby!
The Days Inn was a very nice hotel. My husband & I both found the room very comfortable. We actually ended up with a better view than we thought we would get. The description said our room was "ocean-view", but I felt that it was really more of an "ocean-front" view because our hotel door and window faced the Atlantic, and with only the parking lot between us & the ocean, it was a picturesque view, and very quick walk to the beach. Delicious complimentary breakfast and friendly staff. The room was clean, and well maintained upon arrival. Fast easy checkout. -The only disappointment was that housekeeping only stopped by once (with reminding) to tidy up our room, even though we stayed Monday through Friday. Other than that, it was a perfect stay.

Unexpected.....

Posted 26-Jul-2014
Cons: Everything in one location.
Location: Nice restaurants, Wright Memorial, Jockey's Ridge Hang gliding school
We arrived at the hotel thinking that we had an oceanfront room reserved and paid for. I was very dissappointed to find out that Expedia had booked us in a room across the street. Not only were we not oceanfront, but we had to drive across the street for our "free breakfast" and access to the pool. I was not happy. The staff at the hotel checked to see if they could upgrade us, but they did not have anything available.
