“Left Much To Be Desired!”
Check-in was hilarious as it took three tries walking to and from rooms to eventually find one that was truly vacant. The restaurant staff was uninspiring and inattentive, the food bland, the fruits stale and the juices watered down. Front desk staff require customer service training as is seemed normal to miss-assign guest rooms without apology or regret or to misinform about parking. The room was clean even though the toilet tank repeatedly failed to refill with water. Otherwise, it was a good short stay.
“Very dirty hotel”
The worst and dirtiest hotel that I have ever seen. I paid for 2 nights but I left after 1 night. A very bad smell strikes you nose from the moment you step into the hotel. I killed a cockroach in the room.
“Nice place to stay in Oshawa, and would stay again.”
Great warm pool and large hot-hot tub! Room was good size and clean. Hotel is an older building but well maintained. Very nice carpeted hallways. TV stations were numerous (over 50 cable stations), coffee maker in room. Fridge in room. The high speed internet in the room was by ethernet cable only, not wifi. It was a cable at the desk for one computer, so if you want to compute in bed or away from the desk bring yourself a 20 foot ethernet cable to hook up. Wifi is available in the lobby and lounge. Restauraunt had a decent breakfast for 7 bucks, with 2 eggs, 3 bacon strips, home fries and toast w/jams. Coffee for 2 bucks all you care to drink. Friendly staff throughout hotel. Nice exercise room with good equipment as well as a sauna.
“"definitely Not the place to stay"”
Besides having the reservation made with expedia we also had another one in this holtel for lthe same time period. The ONLY thing that we got that we asked for was joining rooms. The shower was broken in one room and the shower wouldn't stop dripping in the other room. There were stains on the sheets from previous use.(the sheets had been laundered but the stain did not come out) There was a TV and fridge in each room but there was no microwave(??) It was only two nights, so we did nmanage to survive them.
“good breakfast”
great
“Shouldn't be considered a 3 star”
Stayed here for one night with one other person. I wouldn't expect from a 3 star hotel. Pros: -front desk staff were nice -pool looked nice but didn't use it -room large Cons: -small bathroom (barely place to stand) -requested a king and got two doubles -no kleenex in room and limited toiletries (2 soap-1 for face and 1 for body, shampoo, lotion, no conditioner). -hot water was actually cold, cold water was actually the hot in the shower. -water pressure was too much to the point it stung. -our room opened to a patio and the curtain was a thick sheer. -thin walls -toilet had issues flushing (i.e., couldn't do back to back flushes; it took several minutes to do a second flush)
“Old Hotel”
This Holiday Inn has reasonable rates but it is a very old hotel and it shows. The room I was in was located in a hallway that was so long it could be used for launching 747's. The room itself suffered from old drab paint and curtains along with remnants of squished bugs on the clothing rack. The noise generated by running the water in the sink, tub or by flushing the toilet was enough to drown out any thoughts in my head. The noise from the nearby freeway was loud all night as well as listening to other folks running their water. It's a place to sleep and it's relatively inexpensive especially if you book through Expedia but next time I'll stay in nearby Whitby, Ontario as there are better options there. Mike S.
