“Not impressed”
This hotel was very dissapointing for the amount we paid. There were a lot of little things wrong with the room, which made the visit not very good. There was stuff stuck to the walls, tub had no plug, we kept having to reset the clock because the outlet it was plugged into kept losing power, the temperature of the shower kept changing from burning hot to cold, the shower head was very low. Then we went to the free breakfast to find no place to sit and there was a sign saying that if you take food out of the lobby they would charge you $5 per person. The location was great.
“You get what you pay for”
As always I come in with wet wipes to sanitse. My wet cloth was as black as the back of my shoes after wiping down the arms of the chairs. The bed was very hard with dingy linens. The room smelled of mildew and the carpet was nasty.
“Not impressed”
Beds not comfortable Floor overhead squeaked when people walked Generally noisy on a weekend night
“Will return.”
The young lady checking us in was a bit curt, but the rest of the staff was very polite. We stayed 3 nights. On our 1st night we had an issue with awful smell in our room. We requested a reassignment & our request was honored @ no additional charge. (The carpets had just been cleaned & were not sufficiently dry, thus creating an unpleasant smell in the room.) The shower's water temperature was difficult to regulate. The noise level @ the hotel was very quiet. We also liked the feature of two sinks with countertops with bright lighting. My husband had no trouble seeing to shave. The hot water was instantly hot. Very conveniently located.
“I'd go back, but I'm sure you wouldn't want to.”
Why I went here: It's a cheap, clean, safe place to stay. The reason why I would come back, the front desk ladies were nice to talk to and quite attractive. Other than that, I would not tell anyone to go there because the showers run out of hot water easily. You have to wake up at 7am before anyone to get hot water. I didn't complain about it to the staff, simply because they probably need to invest in a few extra water heaters which can't be resolved overnight. Location is awesome however, especially if your friends are at Camp Pendalton. My Marine buddy and I enjoyed the taco shop down the street called "Aurora's" and Laguna Beach is just north 15 mins by car ride. There is also good activities right across the street at the harbor and beach like Kyaking....Lots of seals in the water! Very fun, or they also rent jet skis across the street from the hotel. *DO go there to save money and have a good time (if little things like lukewarm/cold showers don't bother you) *DON'T go there for a luxurious vacation. However there is a very basic breakfast that is provided. I wouldn't call it continental though, but it is free (mini muffins, cereal, some pre-packaged pastries, fruit, bagels, etc).
“Service was bad!”
We had a reservation for 3 nights. Out of the Three nights our beds were only made once. We had to request towels so we could shower. I am not sure I will stay here again. The price was too high for the service we received.
“"Not Impressed"”
The only thing good about this place, was the location. Housekeeping was a joke. Unconfortable and dirty furniture. Out of place in such a nice beach community.
“Great Place! Good location”
The staff was friendly. I needed my car started with jumper cables and the staff went out of there way to help me. I couldn't have asked for a better group of people to help. Thank you!
“Was a nice place.”
I like the location and the managers. The managers were friendly and accomodating. Nice place
“Excellent Value”
Nothing fancy, but good value and choice location by the beach. The king-size bed was great and very comfortable. No problem accessing internet. Breakfast was satisfactory, nothing special. And there are several nearby restaurants to walk to, although nothing fancy (e.g., Denny's). My only complaint was the room cleanliness could be better as I had to keep the window and door open most of the time to aerate -- no x-ventilation. Also, I'm a big guy, and the toilet was just too small and too close to the wall. Otherwise, no complaints and the service was excellent. Very nice attendants at the hotel entrance. Also, the room was amazingly quiet despite proximity to Pacific Coast Hwy. I didn't have my kids, but wouldn't hesitate to go back and bring them and stay again. The pool is too small, but who needs it when you can just walk to the beach?
