Short walk to the sea front

Posted 29-Jun-2015
Pros: Location was nice and quiet and could easily park over the road.
Our room was overbooked on arrival but we were re located to another room and staff were very helpful.

Not fancy, but it serves the purpose

Posted 03-Jun-2015
Pros: It was inexpensive.
My friend and I needed an inexpensive place to spend the night in Scarborough and found it at the Granville. It's an old building, but the elevator worked (although it only held 2 people and 1 suitcase). The room was utilitarian, but it was clean. The biggest problem was trying to find a parking place on the street. I would stay again if I ever returned to this town.

Don't Stay Here

Posted 04-May-2015
Pros: Nothing
Cons: The hotel needs a complete overall.
In the Bathroom the shelves were hanging off the wall so you could not put any thing down, the towel rail was also hanging from the wall and the bath mat was made of paper. The bathroom was also covered in mildew and the door was hanging from it's hinges. The décor was outdated and stained from people placing mug that were too hot on the surfaces and burning them. The room was so poor that I kept my clothes in the suitcase and did not attempt to use any draws or wardrobe. The breakfast was also a disappointment, with very limited choice, mainly cereal, bread and jam; with the option of a grapefruit and orange juice. Dress code was also an issue as guests came to breakfast in their nightwear, which is completely inappropriate.
