Decent mid range hotel with stunning sea views

Posted 23-Jan-2015
Stayed mid Jan so it was very quiet. Although I wasn't sea facing, I had a lovely little walk on balcony. I added breakie on at an additional price of £18, but was told a full English was another £5. Fortunately he did me some eggs at no extra cost

Nice hotel with beautiful view of sea!

Posted 10-Nov-2014
Upon our arrival we were pleased to see that we had a lovely view of the sea from our window! The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The room was comfortable with a lovely bed, a tv, a hairdryer, a kettle and tea and coffee facilities. The bathroom was nice with a bath and a shower. Everyday a member of staff came to tidy our room, change our bins and restock for anything we were short of. The town centre was a short walk and the area was very quiet which made it pleasant to walk in at night and that we weren't disturbed by traffic. We made use of the pool and the sauna which were lovely and an asset to the hotel. Overall a lovely stay. No complaints.

Groter dan verwacht

Posted 10-Nov-2014
2 televisies !

Lovely hotel with great amentities

Posted 31-Oct-2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Bathroom was small and in need of updating
Location: The spa looked amazing and will definently be trying it next time I stay
I came across this hotel by accident and never need to look elsewhere. Whenever I need to stay near Scarborough, this will be the hotel I stay at. The staff are very friendly, great amentities, great food, at a good price what more could you ask for

OK for price

Even the refurbished rooms felt a bit tired (especially the bathroom). Spa could be lovely but having so many windows looking in was a bit off putting.

In short - overpriced for what you get 2.5 stars

Posted 08-Oct-2014 on Hotels.com
The staff were very friendly and helpful on arrival. The room looked the part although the bathroom left a little something to be desired. However the bed was too soft and the room far too hot, couldn't really open the window without being caked in pigeon poo. For the second night I had a fan put in the room which helped with one of the issues. I also sampled a treatment in the spa. What was supposed to be a 25min (which is already 5minutes less than the industry standard of 30minutes for this treatment) back neck and shoulder massage. I was on the couch for approximately 15minutes!! The therapist didn't really listen to my needs and caused quite a bit of pain. Thankfully I managed to get a refund for this already overpriced treatment. Such a shame because the hotel has lots of potential if it wasn't so overpriced for what you get

Highs and Lows

Small room for two. T.V extremely complicated and very old model. A plasma would have taken up much less room. Had to get help twice to switch it on. Feel room rate should have included breakfast compared to other rates for hotels nearby. Had to park in the street yet the hotel details sent to me said parking on-site. The swimming pool was the reason I booked this hotel and it was first rate in every way.

A hotel in dire need of upgrade in facilities

Posted 24-Sep-2014
Pros: Breakfast good but totally self service
Cons: Total refurbishment required
Location: Close to seafront and town
Reception uninviting and no-one in attendance on arrival because serving in bar. No help with luggage. Room Spartan and outdated. Bathroom ancient. Very expensive for standard offered.

Standard very overpriced!

Booked a sea view room costing £150 for one night! You could barely see the sea as it was quite distant and the room did not face the sea, you could only see the beach if you stood right by the window and you had to break your neck to see it! Paid for a double room for 2 people but the bed was very small. Overall the hotel was nice but I expected a lot better for my money.
