Ideal location for south cliff, spectacular views!

Posted 03-Aug-2015
Very efficient staff, impressed breakfast, parking and use of spa all included in room price. Quiet area, great view of the bay from the dining room, but a stone's throw from cliff lift to access The Spa Complex and beach.

Nice short break

Posted 31-Jul-2015
Pros: Pool and Sauna and relaxed atmosphere.
Cons: The hotel could make it clear the parking is on the road with the hotel paying for the permits, there were lots of spaces in a quiet area so no probs.
Location: Quiet southern area of town, nice easy walk of 18-20 min to centre. Fernicular railway and 'The Spa Complex' very close.
Husband and Wife. We spent 3 nights at the hotel while seeing friends who live in Scarborough. The stay was fine and we made full use of the pool and sauna during our time there. The hotel was nice and warm, welcome because we did not have the best of weather while there. Friendly staff and everything we wanted for Breakfast. This is the first time we have stayed in Scarborough and if we visit again I would not look any further than the Ambassador Hotel.

Perfect Location

Perfect location for the view! Easy access to the beach. Only a 10-15 min walk plus the optional tram for a £1.50 return. Hotel was amazing, pool was perfect to relax in.

Found the room very hot, trouble with a window so moved rooms. Not too impressed with dinner.

Clean but a bit tired. Excellent location.

Posted 25-May-2015
Stayed here for two nights as in Scarborough for a funeral. The decor is very tired and the hotel needs a complete makeover, but the room was very clean and had everything you would expect. The view of the South Bay from our room was lovely. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Didn't get to us the spa but the pool looked nice- small but still good to have. Good location on The Esplanade, about 20 mins walk from the town and close to the cliff lift to the Spa. Free on street parking. Good breakfast although there was no fresh fruit.

Bad value for money.

Posted 05-May-2015
Pros: Seaviews
Cons: Friendliness at reception, breakfast, bathroom, value for money
Location: quiet, a bit of a walk to get to the city centre
Too expensive for what you get. It looks like they have started the refurbishment and have stopped in the middle. The bathroom was old and dingy and could do with some cleaning. The breakfast was poor. The lady at reception didn't explain anything (for instance, how do you get to the spa). There were literally no signs in the whole hotel (no signs to reception, for room numbers, to the lift...). Get by by yourself! The seaviews from the room were excellent.

Scarbro. weekend

A good stay on Scarboroughs esplanade, hotel was very good but if anything it was too warm in the bedroom. There was no way to control the heat. Otherwise we would come again.

excellent position overlooking the bay.

Posted 30-Apr-2015
Pros: clean, friendly, good spot and quiet area even though it was on sea front.
Location: excellent for beach and seafront as lift to beach was just a short stroll away.
hotel staff very welcoming and accommodating. food was good. only items choice on cooked breakfast menu let it down a little. only five items to choose from. a few extra items available would have been welcomed like tomatoes or mushrooms instead of beans and scrambled egg instead of fried.
