In a good position, close to the beach

Posted 08-Jun-2015
Pros: It was clean and in a good position
Cons: Turn the heating off when it's warm. The meals could be better.
Location: Near to the Spa complex, near the South Shore, L
Found the room very hot, trouble with a window so moved rooms. Not too impressed with dinner.

Clean but a bit tired. Excellent location.

Posted 25-May-2015
Stayed here for two nights as in Scarborough for a funeral. The decor is very tired and the hotel needs a complete makeover, but the room was very clean and had everything you would expect. The view of the South Bay from our room was lovely. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Didn't get to us the spa but the pool looked nice- small but still good to have. Good location on The Esplanade, about 20 mins walk from the town and close to the cliff lift to the Spa. Free on street parking. Good breakfast although there was no fresh fruit.

Bad value for money.

Posted 05-May-2015
Pros: Seaviews
Cons: Friendliness at reception, breakfast, bathroom, value for money
Location: quiet, a bit of a walk to get to the city centre
Too expensive for what you get. It looks like they have started the refurbishment and have stopped in the middle. The bathroom was old and dingy and could do with some cleaning. The breakfast was poor. The lady at reception didn't explain anything (for instance, how do you get to the spa). There were literally no signs in the whole hotel (no signs to reception, for room numbers, to the lift...). Get by by yourself! The seaviews from the room were excellent.

excellent position overlooking the bay.

Posted 30-Apr-2015
Pros: clean, friendly, good spot and quiet area even though it was on sea front.
Location: excellent for beach and seafront as lift to beach was just a short stroll away.
hotel staff very welcoming and accommodating. food was good. only items choice on cooked breakfast menu let it down a little. only five items to choose from. a few extra items available would have been welcomed like tomatoes or mushrooms instead of beans and scrambled egg instead of fried.

Not impressed.

Posted 16-Mar-2015 on Hotels
Not impressed with the check-in as the person on duty thought it more important to complete what he was doing on the computer than check us in. So we waited, and waited. Then as we were part way through the process he decided to answer a phone call to the switchboard. Eventually we got it sorted and went up to the room to discover a bed that was smaller than I expected and the ensuite had a dodgy bathroom floor. On the upside, the bay window was lovely and we could see the sea ! Feeling a bit let down we left before breakfast and got some food in the town where the staff greeted us enthusiastically.
