Pros: The staff who were very pleasant and the food which was very good
Cons: Room was a little tired, though spotlessly clean with lots of towels and a nice refreshment tray.
Location: We only stayed overnight as we were moving onto Llangollen the next day. A very quit village.
The staff were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We ate in the bar and the food was lovely - well cooked, hot and fresh. Also the breakfast was very good and far bigger than we could eat.

Tired and worn.

Pros: Staff - when everything appeared to be going alright. Harry the pet dog.
Cons: Too much to list.
Location: Pleasantish location but very little to do in the village if you aren't into church services, graveyards etc. OK if your a fisherman, riverside walk.
More basic than picture depicts. Taped up windows upstairs/forced doors downstairs with confirmation of a break in did not add to my feeling of security, neither did the fire door which was wedged open constantly. Broken kettle, dripping and broken tap, missing wardrobe doors. The room overlooked the cemetery which I am sure many folk wouldn't like. The church bells chime every fifteen minutes! Add to this the noise of the creaking floorboards upstairs, the continually banging pub door downstairs, plus guests who work nights and crash into the place at 2am by wrenching the entrance door outside of room so hard it shakes the already unstable door! I stayed for three nights slept for approx seven hours in total over all three nights. The management seemed quite shocked that I should complain - "apparently they hadn't known that expedia would sent them shift workers". Shift workers or not I would be taking them to one side and saying 'creep in, or get out' - they owe it to their other paying guests. Such a shame as owners appear nice (albeit nieve) folk. Despite a long conversation with manageress she was shocked that no one else has ever complained. Maybe they are used to sleeping in a very noisy environment?

Nothing was too much for the staff.

Pros: The freindly family inspired service.
Cons: Nothing, keep up the good work.
Location: We were at the cholmondley pagent of power and it was only 30 minutes away. Hotel situation was nice with church opposite and river not far away.
We arrived on friday afternoon and were met by the landlord. We were shown to our room witch was very comfortable with a tv, en-suite, ironing board, hairdrier and tea/coffee making facilities. Food was served all day which was good because we needed a hot meal before we went out at 6.30 to a concert. We were asked what time we wanted breakfast the next morning and when we went down 20 minutes early it was'nt a problem and we had our cooked breakfast 5 minutes later. This service was typical of our 2 night stay.

Good food - shame about the bathroom

The food was plentiful and well cooked, beds comfy - biggest let down was the ensuite was like in a cupboard - there was no hot water to wash in,even though we mentioned this, throughout the four days that we stayed - there was a shower but no soap in the dispenser until the last day - good location and the staff were friendly

Very friendly lady

When I arrived a man showed me to my room (eventually after some confusion and showing me to a room that already had someone else's baggage in) and he didn't say a word to me, so my first impression wasn't great. However the room was clean and spacious, it was very good value for money. The next day a lady asked if I wanted breakfast the following day, she was incredibly friendly (it was a shame it hadn't been her who had showed me my room as I would probably have had breakfast on the first morning if I'd had a chance to order it), when I said I didn't need any (I was setting off early for a sporting event), she even offered to make me a packed lunch to go. Very kind and friendly.

The owners will do anything for you, they drove us to and from our wedding venue instead if us having to pay £25 each way. Even picked us up at 2am and kept the bar open afterwards! Top notch and great breakfast in the morning.
