“pleasant”

We had a very pleasant stay. Although a coat of paint and a new carpet on the corridor would have been an improvement, everything in the room worked, it was extremely clean and the beds were comfortable. Towels were provided. We would have appreciated washing up liquid and cloths in kitchen area. We are budget travellers and were not disappointed. Thank you Residence Nice Fleurs.

Area recommendations
Promenade des Anglais for a pretty stroll around the bay. Vieille Ville for narrow streets. Colline du Chateau for park and views over Nice. Eze village perched on cliffs.

“Needs refurbishment now!”

The staff at this apartment block were kind and the location was good for the beach and surrounding shops and restaurants. I'm afraid that is where the good review ends. The rooms were in desperate need of renovation with peeling paint and wall paper. The carpets in the complex were very worn and badly stained. We had three rooms; one of us in each. One room had ants, one had the cooker and fridge in the bedroom and all were in poor repair. This apartment block could be bought upto an accaptable standard for a few hundred a room so I do not understand the condition. It would not get more than one star in the UK; three stars must be a mistake or it is long overdue a star rating inspection. I have stayed at more than 20 hotels in Nice from budget to 4-5 star. Every other budget hotel has been better than this. Its a shame as putting it right would not be a major task.

Area recommendations
Given the choice find a hotel near or in the old town. Any location in the main town is still ok as the area is small and walking along the Prominade de Anglais is a real pleasure; any time of day or night! Eat in the old town for more traditional french food at half the price of the beach front eateries.
Dining
Definately eat in the old town. Avoid the pricey beach front locations, you will just be paying for your vanity. The locals eat in the old town and that is all I need.

“Not impressed”

It's cheap, but not cheerful, just about bearable. Hasn't been decorated since 1987 with vomit like stains on public area carpets. Lifts kind of work but don't always stop at every floor. Bedding clean and beds comfortable. Ideal if you aren't planning on staying in the room for too long.

“Served its Purpose”

The hotel seemed reasonably well-run but our only dealings were with Reception due to being out each day. The ground floor was well kept but the carpets in the third floor coridor were in need of replacement. The appartment was adequate having everything we needed. Although situated between 5-10 minutes from the sea front my wife found it a fairly long walk from the hotel to the old town. We would be prepared to go back

“Basic Accomodation”

The reception staff in the apartments were very friendly and helpful. Our apartment was clean but in need of modernisation and refurbishment. Although there was a fan in the living and bedroom areas it really needed air conditioning. The kitchen was basic and didn't have any towels or oven trays. The location was good and near plenty of restaurants. It's a short walk to the beach and centre of town

“For those looking for a budget stay in Nice”

We stayed a week in this hotel and overall have been satisfied with what it had to offer. Since there was an acceptably equipped kitchen, we were able to prepare our own meals from amazingly cheap and tasty produce (luckily, there was a gourmet cook in our party of two!). The beach is a 7-8 minute walk and while there is no A/C, there is a ceiling fan and a constant breeze to make up for comfortable sleeping at night. Sure, there are inconveniences of renting an appartment for a week, such as making your own beds, cleaning after yourself in the kitchen and bathroom and throwing your own garbage out, but who cares...it is an affordable way to stay and enjoy Nice!

“Dirty and too hot...”

We stayed in one bed room here last week. The room was badly cleaned, very dirty and dusty. We got a portable air cooler, but it didn't work at all because room was too spacious for this machine. The bathroom doesn't have fan, it was very uncomfortable to use it. We didn't have hot water in the night after coming back from beach, it was very bad. The kitchen has too limited cooking thing, we needed at least fried pan. The hotel need serious refurbrish and need proper air conditioning. I would not recommend this hotel for people with children especially.

“Cleaners know how to clean! Please refurbish!!!”

very clean. Cheap and served our purposes. Desperately needs refurbishment (hopefully the owners will read this!) There was no mould in the bathroom and I suspect tiling had been refurbished. Bathroom basin unit and all kitchen units need replacing along with bedroom furniture. The double bed which replaced the sofa bed was fine but there were no easy chairs in our studio, only the upright chairs at the table. Bear in mind, this is an appartment NOT a hotel - you DO have to supply your own loo rolls and washing up liquid! On arrival we requested a garden view room but that stank of tobacco so were given a room over Rue des Orangiers which was quieter.

“Nice by Muti x2”

Easy to find as the hotel is centrally located. The neighbourhood is so ' Cot D Azur' with the french shutters, pots of flowers in every balcony, residents to wake up in the morning and ' smile' to the new day. We were thrilled with the balcony and had breakfast every day. All the shops and center of town is walking distance and a local super market is 5 minutes walk. Worth sampling the local delicacies and cook your own food as it will save you a lot of money but at the same time it will give younthe opportunity to discover a wonder;and in French produce. So tasty and difficult to stop eating... The hotel was dated not super clean but had all the basics and it was well worth what we paid for. I would say the matress was abit uncomfortable and the bath tab which took us by surprise as one could hardly fit. Nonethe less, we tooki it as a joke and loved it more than we could have expected!!! We frecommend renting a car as the delights and the beautiful sightseeing is beyond one's imagination. the hotel offers a car opaRK SERVICE , 10 EURO /DAY , and it is a very safa and secure option. Do not miss the old town and if you like wandering around, it would be a misss not to sample one of the ' street'pizzas that taste like heaven. And very cheap. We recommned a day for St Tropez by car which will take your breath away and needless to say when you decide to visit Monaco and Monte Carlo, take an extra camera as the place is BEAUTIFUL.

“Cheap Hotel but clean and ok.”

Nice Fleurs is in a really good location. Only a 5 minute walk to the beach and 10 minute walk to the Train station. The side road can be a little loud with traffic at times but not too bad. The local binmen do collect there rubbish late at night but if found this to be only once a week. The hotel is what I consider to be at the lower scale in regards to price but you get what you pay for. The room was clean and the shower and toilet were too.

Area recommendations
Nice in itself is a lively city thus this is the reason you feel safe walking around at night. The locals were really friendly. I visited Monaco one day, we went on a boat which leaves from Nice harbour at 9:30am every day and is really quite reasonable in price and the captain shows you all the famous peoples houses on the way. Not much to do in monaco but worth a visit.
Dining
Meals in Nice are quite reasonable but i suggest if your going to have a drink or 2 to be wary as its really really expensive to buy lager and wine in restuarants or bars. The cheapest i payed for a pint of Lager was €5.50 and the most expensive was €23 so if your going to have alot to drink to make sure you bring plenty of Euro's.
