“Great Location”
This Hotel has a great location situated mdiway between Macey's and Bloomingdales, so if you are feeling energetic you can walk to either or if not the nearest subway is just a few blocks away. Nice local restaurants and pubs are within a few minutes of the hotel so you dont feel so forced to spend all your time in the major tourist spots. The hotel itself was nice with helpful staff. One room we booked was very small but fine for a single traveller or couple. We also got free wi-fi to compensate. Bathrooms were good with nice showers and the free bliss products were lovely. We ended up in the spa shop buying lots to take home with us. In the evenings there was a DJ in the main lobby bar playing the very latest dance and trance tracks which are not to my personal taste and it made it very noisy and difficult to have a chat after a long days shopping but there were plenty of other bars close by. The air conditioning in the room was very noisy and we asked to have it looked at but unfortunately it remained so. Overall a great hotel for the price we paid and I would stay again!
“Centrally but loudly located, and tiny.”
The cozy rooms are tiny, even for New York standards. There is a desk and bed and about 10 sq ft of walking room, that's it. While the hotel is located within walking distance of tons of great locations it is also less than 1 block from a police and fire station, which proceeds to spew fire trucks and police cars with sirens blazing at all hours. For the price I'd look elsewhere.
“Great NY Hotel”
Great Hotel. Great Location. Fantastic Service
“Small, comfortable & excellent location”
Excellent location and a great hotel. Rooms are small but complete, clean and great service
“W Hotel Midtown Manhattan”
The W is definitely inviting, with music playing all day and night the front desk staff was helpful and even upgraded us to a different room when the room we originally had was still occupied. I did find the room to be quite small and we had the upgraded room, so I can't imagine what the smallest room was like. Even though the room was small we spent so much time outside of it that it didn't really matter. The mattress was comfortable and the linens were nice. I was a little irked at the prices of food and drink within the hotel lobby....its hotel food not gold.
“Perfect place to stay in Manhattan Mid-Town East”
Took my wife for a tour of Manhattan. The hotel is in really nice shape and well taken care of. It's located is in a great part of town with close subways and great places to eat. Close to everything but not too close to the busy, hussle and bussle of Time Square. We loved NYC and the W!!!
“Fantastic hotel - recommend to everyone, could not fault it at all”
Absolutely amazing time in the W Hotel, from the minute we arrived until we left, we could not fault it at all. The most comfortable bed I have ever slept in and it was massive, shower was really powerful so great to wake you up in the mornings. Everywhere within the hotel was immaculately clean and tidy at all times and everyone was so helpful and friendly, hope to return their again.
“Thanksgiving W 2011”
I arrived early and took a chance on an early check in. The front desk was polite, quick to respond and check in was highly efficient and easy. I went to my room, nice well kept room, a typical New York City standard hotel room, no view, everything compact into a comfortable small space. For a single person, or an Urban Couple, it was perfect. I did notice some wear and tear in the hall way, wall paper peeling off, some of the fixtures, not necessarily "perfect". Like, the light cover in the closet was coming off. A couple of loose screws in the draw with the safe. A slight tear in the top sheet of the bed, by the way, was never changed out, during my stay. But what really took me back a bit was a grouping of long hairs, on the wash cloth. And after they serviced my room, I found a hand towel left IN the bathtub over the drain. And finally, one of the fresh towels, had what appeared to be makeup streaks on it. The hotel is a happening place, with Whiskey Blue, the lounge bar in the lobby and the lobby area, had a DJ on Friday night. Friday and Saturday night, security checked each person for hotel keys, prior to going up in the elevator, which was good. Check out was also very easy and quick. No other issues, I would stay again and I would recommend.
“Loved it!! Perfect location!!”
Just had a problems with the tv. Overall a great place.
“Convenient, Clean & Comfortable”
While it's certainly not the biggest or most luxurious place we've stayed, for the combination of location & price, the W met our budget, needs and expectations.
