“Cheap Hotel, Good Location, Have to be willing to share bathroom.”

Just returned from this hotel and was pleasantly surprised. I knew going in that the Hotel was a shared bathroom hotel, but I was traveling by myself on a budget and this fit the bill. Getting to the room is a bit of an adventure as the halls are more like trails (narrow and slightly winding) and the elevators are old. The walls of the room were scuffed, but there was no odor and the room was clean, the bed was more comfortable than others that I have been to in NYC at over three times the price. The neighborhood is pretty quiet so there is not a lot of ambient noise. The only negative in my room was the use of radiant heaters which made the air quite dry (reminded me of college). Bathroom was clean if small. No waiting.

“Not at all what the add promised - louzy place with dirt, cochroaches & other stuff Not recommeded!!”

Not at all what the add promised - louzy place with lot of dirt, cochroaches & other stuff... Not recommeded!! We had to get another hotel after one night stay. The price is unbeliavably high according to the thing that you only get a a dirty room with now bathroom and lot´s of cochroaches etc.

“Some things are cheap for good reasons!”

This "hotel" is blocks away from Central Park and the upper westside neighborhood is a great place to walk around and have all useful shopping and amenities nearby. But, as you walk into the "hotel", you are greeted by a dark, dingy, decrepit, old, and musky environment where you are afraid to run into the other inhabitants. My room, which was a "Single Queen" size.........was less than 6ft wide and about 12ft long. Just about the size of a walk-in closet. The carpet was 200 years old, the bedding had curly little black hairs, and the thin walls provided constant soundtrack from the neighboring rooms. The bathroom was in the hallway and was a perfect compliment to the room and its condition. To be honest and fairthe to the hotel....... it provides all the fundamental human necessities to live for a couple of days..... but the toll it takes on your mind in terms of depression and self loathing for not being able to afford something better........ is an expense that cancels out all benefits you thought you were receiving buy pying such cheap rate. Please put in the extra 50 dollars a night and get a normal hotel room if you can.

“Chose another hotel”

Although this hotel provides the basics, they are in poor condition. The room is small, bed was barely passable, sink dripping and a shared bathroom. Perhaps the hotel fits the price but it was not worth the stay.

“TOTALLY AWFUL. IT IS NOT A HOTEL”

THIS PLACE IS NOT A HOTEL, IS DIRTY, OLD, BAD SMELL, THE BED IS GARBAGE. I DECIDED TO CHANGE HOTEL WHEN I SAW THE PLACE.

Area recommendations
UPTOWN, MIDTOWN, LOWER CITY IS OK, BUT MANY PLACES ARE NOT HOTELS. THE SIMILAR RATES IN MEXICO GIVE YOU AN EXCELENT PLACE, NICE, CLEAN, CONFORTABLE)

“A bit of a dive at a great price in a great location”

I would sum the place up by "what do you expect for this price?" If you don't mind a bit of grime on the floors and dirty, worn out carpets, go for it. It's in a fantastic spot. It's a very safe neighbourhood, and very near to the 72nd street subway station. The bathrooms were the one thing that were kept very clean. On the other hand, if you are picky about cleanliness, you will probably not feel comfortable here. Recommendations: - Bring flip flops for the shower - Use the closet and dresser - don't put your luggage or laundry on the carpets - My room was drafty; bring an extra blanket if it's winter. - If you have something like a cell phone or laptop charger, bring a power splitter; my room only had 2 outlets.

“It's ok if you're just looking for a place to lay your head...”

Felt safe there, it is in a very nice neighborhood, located in a residential area...if you're looking for high class though this is not your place...the bathrooms are shared...I never had a problem having to wait for anyone the only thing with the bathroom was they gave towels but no wash cloths so take your own...no problems with noisy guests or anything like that, the elevator looks to be about 100 years old and scary...we did not use it we walked 5 flights to our room...small rooms, bed was a little uncomfortable but it did what it was supposed to do..if you're looking for a place to sleep or rest for a bit before going back out this place is fine...if you care about what the place you stay at looks like this will not be your place....

“Average a bit out of the way”

This place is old!! The room is comfortable, but the location is out of the way, and not close to the better parts of the city for, tourist things

Area recommendations
Midtown, Meetpackers, East Village. They are closer to the action of the city.
Getting around
Get a Metro card work out the subway and you can get anywhere with a very low weekly cost.

“HORRIBLE.....NEVER AGAIN”

You get what you pay for......Although it's cheap, it doesn't even look like a hotel. It looks like a halfway house. You don't have your own bathroom and the size of the room is like a closet. Terrible.

Upper West Side, New York, United States of America: Some bemoan that the Upper West Side has become a version of the Upper East Side. Case in point: Columbus Circle’s Time Warner Center, one of New York’s priciest real estate. The Upper West Side includes the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, the American Museum of Natural History, and Columbia University. Harlem, the legendary African American neighborhood, lies north and caps Manhattan.
