“I ;will never go back to the hotel”
The hotel room was not much bigger than the bed and the rug was very stained. I could bearly fit into the bathroom and the tiles were old and worn. It was above the cheap souvenir and money change shops and I was a bit concerned for my safety. There were a lot of qestionable people hanging around the hotel during the day. It was located near Soho, Little Italy and the China Town so I enjoyed the easy walk to these locations. In summary, I don't know how you could rate it a stree star as it was the worst hotel I was ever in.
“Functional neat hotal in NY”
Rooms are functional but it is a neat well located for eating out if your call is chinatown and little italy
“Good hotel in a great location”
If you go to Hotel Azure expecting velvet drapes, a four-poster bed and acres of space, then you will be disappointed. If however you want a nice clean room to sleep in, with friendly staff and with a 30 second walk to the metro (NQR and 6 so you can get to most of Manhattan without even needing to change) you will be very happy with this hotel. Pros: Nice bathroom and toiletries, fridge in room, working air-con, working wi-fi friendly reception staff Cons: Street noise (but that's pretty much NYC for you...), mattresses slipped around on beds a bit
“Good Price, Bad Location”
The price was right for this hotel in SOHO and the subway was very close. The rooms are very, very small. Carpet was stained, but the bed was comfy. This is your basic hotel, free wi-fi was nice. Did not care for the neighborhood at all and the noise and shaking from the subway was annoying. No restaurants, other than Chinatown and Little Italy. Front staff was delightful. If you are here on business, as I was, the price and location to the subway is all that matters. If you are looking for a vacation experience in NYC, keep looking and spend a few more $ for a hotel uptown.
“Not Impressed”
Except the front desk staff who were very very helpful and cooperative, there is nothing exciting about this hotel. Dirty rooms, small rooms do not deserve the price that its charging for a night stay. NOT SATISFIED
“Cheap but not cheap enough”
I booked this place because it was cheap but in all honesty it wasn't nearly cheap enough. The room was only fractionally larger than the bed. There were no drawers, there wasn't even a wardrobe - just a rail screwed into the wall. The shower didn't work properly either, spraying water in all directions at once, such that the ceiling would get soaking wet when I took a shower. The air conditioning unit was ridiculously loud too. I had to switch it off to make a phone call or to sleep.
“Good Location”
Very good location, the subway is less than 100 feet. Very clean, but small rooms. If you want to stay at the hotel for pleasure, this is not the one, but if you need a room just to sleep and close to the subway station...this is the one.
“Excellent location, cramped for the money.”
Stayed here 12 days. There were a few problems with the room ( A/C, leaky faucet) which were fixed in a timely manner. My room was very small even by NYC budget standards, and there were odd issues - like bed sheets not fitting, curtain problems, bad lighting, etc. The staff was very nice ( 24 hour desk) and I personally did not mind the subway rumble or traffic noise. Location is excellent with the subway connections and easy walk to TriBeca, LES, etc. I have recently stayed in at least six budget hotels in this area ( LES, NoLita, SoHo, Chinatown) and this one was not the best buy for what I paid. If you can get a really good rate here, it could be worth it. Otherwise I would consider some other nearby options.
“great location, nice room”
the room may have been small, but the location and staff made the stay very comfertable, the price was great,we will definatly go back.
“Small Rooms, Good Location”
I was a bit worried by the reviews that I read for this hotel, but I booked it because the price and location were right. After staying there, I strongly disagree with the low average rating. Sure the room was small (which was no surprise given a low price in NYC), and light sleepers shouldn't stay there because a subway train runs underneath the hotel, causing a very low rumbling sound every few minutes. However, if you can deal with those two issues, go ahead and book it. The location was excellent - close to subway stops, Chinatown, and Soho. The people at the front desk were helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay there again.
