“Solid comfortable hotel”

Du Fort is not the Hilton or the Sheraton, but it's nice, comfortable, and convenient. With a supermarket just around the corner and tons of restaurants all over, Du Fort sits in a great location. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The bed is comfortable, and the bathrooms are great as well. I think they might have recently done some renovations, so everything looks good. All in all, Du Fort is nothing glamorous but it does the job really well, and I've enjoyed my stay there.

“A little gem.”

We stayed for a week end and found the staff curtious and efficient. Our room was clean and we loved the flexibility the in-room microwave and mini- fridge provided. One evening, after a day with lots of walking, we just bought some wine, fresh baked bread, and cheese from local shops and spent the evening in. We'd stay here again.

“Big rooms, but the hotel is a bit outdated.”

Overall the hotel was pretty nice. The room was big. The staff was courteous. The location is pretty central, you can catch the subway, or the bus in a few blocks and its just off a major street. Nothing really negative about the hotel. It was just not ultra modern and it was showing a bit of its age.

“Love Montreal”

Great hotel in a great city! Nothing bad to say about the hotel and plenty of good things including; quiet/clean room with comfortable bed and great views. All in all, very satisfied.

“An experience to repeat”

We were there one night, only. Staff was helpful and rooms quiet. I found the breakfast to be a tad overpriced, however the food was good and location convenient.

Area recommendations
Did not visit this time, however I have been in the old Montreal before and it is definitely worth visiting.

“Good but with exceptions”

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Du Fort however the 4pm check in was quite frustrating. We had been travelling for quite sometime and had arrived about lunch time. Us along with 2 other couples spent a considerble amount of time in their lounge waiing for our rooms and when it finally reached 4pm we enquired again about the status of our room and it was ready straight away - we don't know how long it had ben ready and we were just waiting downstairs and hadn't been informed... Anyway the location is great and the free popcorn with a movie checkout is a nice touch. Old Quebec is quite something. If you're not all that arty then 2 days is plenty to see all the scenery and beautiful old buildings.
