“Great Riad in Medina”

Really enjoyed our stay at this Riad. The staff here were amazingly helpful and the Rida itself was a great space... well decorated and calm escape from the hectic city outside. Would recommend to and couples, gay or straight.

“Riad Mimouna”

Charming Riad. Very helpful and friendly staff. Beautiful and very comfortable rooms - they are small rooms but that wasn't a problem for me, slept like a baby. Really helpful staff and no nasty charges or surprises, unlike some other places.

Area recommendations
Medina is great if you want easy access to the main square and souks. Hivernage is nice if you want to be in more comfort in the new town and bigger hotels with more facilities. The Medina for experienceing Morocco.

“great hotel”

When we first arrived a member of staff showed us to our room there was a bottle of water there for us which as great. She took time to explain on the map were we are and also to show us were the main centre is. That makes such a big deference to how it makes you feel for that start of our holiday.

Area recommendations
marrakech is a lovely place to stay the people in the neighbourhood are very friendly and helpful.
When to go
We went in july which was peak season which was good for us, but very hot. For it was the start of ramdom which was good for us as we are both muslims so it was good to join in with local people
Getting around
Very easy to get around everything is walking distance. but be careful of the traffic.

“OVERALL IMPRESSION & GREAT STAY”

The Hotel Staff, in general, are very helpful and smiled all the times! However, make careful when you request for tours or even events, organised through the hotel to ensure that those requests have been decently met and confirmed! We ere quite astonished when we thought our request to attend the a Night event was almost a wash up not for the last minute check with the hotel Manager and finally resolved when she found out it had been done by her subordinate with his 'mysterious' arrangements with another local Agent? In another words, we paid the price of a tourist rate but we had actually taken care of together with some other local attendees too! Fortunately, we enjoyed the Show and Dinner though!

“Perfect Riad in excellent location”

We had such a lovely time - Riad Dar Mimouna is no more than 10 mins from the main square. The staff were extremely helpful with any queries we had and made us feel most welcome. Would definitely go back and highly recommend to anyone considering an authentic Riad!

Area recommendations
We packed our 1 week holiday to the hilt - Marrakech is lovely but I think it could get tiring if you planned on going to the souk everyday. We booked a Hammam, went to Cascades D'Ozoud, went on a cooking course Souq Cuisine, spent a day in the Atlas Mountains and our taxi driver, a Berber took us to his family for tea which was a surreal if very pleasant experience. We also had a couple of days on the coast in Tagazhout. We tried out dinner at Villa Flore and Al Fassia - both highly recommended! One of the best holidays I have ever had!

“Wonderful, beautiful, true morrocan character”

We stayed here for 5 days and could not recommend highly enough. the staff were lovely, really helpful. We arrived a few hours before check in so they did our room first and we checked in 2 hours early which was great. The massage and hamman in the hotel is a must have for aching feet and legs after a day wandering the souks. the plumbing is a bit dodgy, but leave the shower running and after 5 mins it does start to work and get lovely and warm, and that's not a complaint its just a quirk. When you arrive you are taken down a maze of alleys then you reach a plain wooden door, which once opened reveals a fantastic Riad renovated using traditional Moroccan craftsman using beautiful mosaic tiles, complete with a lovely fountain which on a hot day gives a wonderful feeling of coolness. The neighbourhood looks tatty but is safe and really close - 10mins from the main square. We ate at the food stalls there every night - great fun as they all vie for your business! Enjoy.

Area recommendations
The main square as it is a riot of noise colours and smells. Visit the museum for the breath taking building and go to the Saddi Palace ruins. if you want to go to the Mamounia Hotel for drinks take your smartest clothes as they have a strict dress code. Otherwise try slumming it in the Tazia Hotel in town and see where the local heavies hang out - basic but you can get a bottle of wine and cheap beer.

“Marrakech Riad Dar Mimouna”

This was a truly lovely place to stay. It exceeded all our expectations and we'd love to go there again. We had asked them to arrange a taxi to collect us from the airport. This turned out to be a good idea and we kept the same driver everytime we went out. Everything is very personal and they take pride in caring for their guests. It's quite magical that the Riad itself is hidden away off the road, down a little winding pathway (and the taxi driver always walked us to our door and saw us in). It reminded me of a Harry Potter film set. A simple little door in an alley way, but what a surprise when you knock on that door and go inside. The photos don't do it justice, it's more beautiful in real life.

Area recommendations
Jemma el Fna (be prepared for hustle and bustle). You'll also see some cruel treatment of monkeys there for photgraphs (so don't have your photo taken with them). Wander round the souks at your leisure and eat the Tagine's. Very good, basic, healthy and filling. For some quiet contrast to Jemma el Fna we went to the Palace Bahia. A beautiful oasis amidst all the noise of the city.
Dining
We also went to Le Comptoir restaurant for an evening, musicians, belly dancing etc. Dancers with lighted candles on their heads etc. A lot of fun.
Outdoors or beach
We did a day trip to the Atlas Mountains, a great day out but hired a taxi for the day (cost about £65 plus tip). Also on route to the mountains are some very funny and very basic bridges to cross the stream to the restaurants. Quite a giggle crossing them.

“Thoroughly recommended”

The Riad was stunning. The rooms were small but clean and had everything you needed. All the staff were friendly and helpful and I would definitely recommend this hotel. The location is great but its worth paying for transfers from the airport as it is difficult to find for the first time.
