“Comfy bed.”
Made this trip to visit one of my son's who is at Uni in Manchester. Requested a non-smoking room, the first room had a strong smell of cigar smoke. I spoke to reception and they changed my room, without any quibbling. The second room had a very faint smell of smoke, I am really surprised that guests are allowed to smoke in any hotel rooms in the UK. The room was lovely and clean. The shower was lovely and hot and had great pressure. The tea and coffee facilities were basic but very acceptable. The bed was enormous and really comfortable, had a good nights sleep. Secure car park, which was great for me travelling on my own. All said I think it was good value. Short drive to my son's Uni accommodation.
“not impressed”
On arrival we were allocated a room designed for a disabled guest. The decor for the room was very bad. There was a hole in the wall were someone had thrown the door back which there hadn't even been an attempt to cover over. On the same wall as the hole, there was a radiator and above the radiator there were two big, black scorch marks. Moving along to the desk next to the window there was a small table lamp. The lightshade of the table lamp was torn and bashed in and on one side wasn't even covering the frame of it. The lampshade on the wall was also torn and was coming off of the wall. The bathroom smelt strongly of vinegar for some strange reason and there were massive cracks in the tiles were the grab rails had been attached. The overall cleanliness of the room was extremely poor; the floor looked as if it hadnt been vacuumed, there was cobwebs along the ceiling, a dirty ring around one of the cups and the bedding didnt smell fresh. There was also an incident where my grandson put his hand under the bed to get his toy car and and came out very dirty.
“Very good value”
Staff were very helpful and polite. I would definitely book this hotel again.
“Cheapo Salford Hotel”
cheap and cheerful, clean and no fuss only around the corner from Deansgate.
“An excellent hotel”
My chief concern with the hotel was walking back after dark by myself from the Museum of Science and Industry where I was attending a meeting. There were very few pedestrians and the route required crossing several very heavily trafficed roads. If you do not have a car, which I did not,it would probably be advisable to use a taxi to the hotel after dark. A positive point about the location was a Sainsbury's supermarket across the street. The hotel staff were especially helpful and courteous. I would recommend the hotel very highly.
“Great place to stay in”
It's a very good place in case you want to visit Old Trafford. The hotel and the service were very good.
“Good hotel for Salford side of town”
Good hotel in terms of location - I could walk to where I was going. The hotel has free parking which was very useful. The room was clean and comfortable. The 12 midday checkout was much better than other places that are 10, or 11. I didn't try breakfast at the hotel - there is a Sainsbury's just across the car park which does all day food.
“close enough to city center to walk”
I staid here when I was going to an a-ha concert at the MEN Arena. There were other hotels closer but much more expensive. The hotel was nice and while a little further away than others to MEN and city center I was back-packing so I didn't mind. I was a little uncomfortable the night of the concert walking through the neighborhood to MEN but that might have just been the route I decided to take. Breakfast the next morning was good and a nice start to the day. Only problem I had was with the TV, couldn't get it to work when I first arrived and all I wanted to do was veg for a bit before the concert. However, things happen and the manager came up to my room and then had maintenance staff take care of the problem. Things like this happen at any hotel what is more telling is how quickly and professionally they took care of the problem.
“Good example of a budget hotel”
A clean, modern comfortable hotel at an affordable price. We stayed for one night to attend a football match at Old Trafford. The staff are helpful, polite and friendly even providing us with a map when we asked directions. 12 o'clock check out was a bonus as we were able to enjoy a long lie in. I would recommend this hotel for anyone who needs a cheap hotel. We would definitely use it again
“Haye trip”
Went up there for the Haye fight and the place was good vaklue for money.
