Great Location

Posted 02-Nov-2014
Pros: Location, wifi access, comfort of room.
Cons: Explain the VIP room is ONLY for executive room guests. Bit embarrassing to go in and not supposed to be there! Didn't see any signs advising us.
Location: Fabulous location. All of the major London sights are within walking distance plus major train and tube station below the hotel.
Hotel is situated above Charing Cross station so very accessible. Walking distance to all major attractions so no need to waste time (or money) waiting for tubes. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Very comfortable room with complimentary nibblies in the mini bar. Would highly recommend.

Lovely hotel ideally situated.

Posted 21-Oct-2014
Pros: Beautiful clean rooms and public areas - great choice for breakfast too, very good value for London.
Location: Just minutes away from Trafalgar Square, Leicester Square, Covent Garden and The Savoy theatre and Lyceum theatre - all within walking distance!
We stayed at this hotel to celebrate my husband's 80th birthday - we chose it because of location and price and it suited us very well. From checking in to leaving the staff could not have done enough for us, our deluxe room was comfortable and spacious. We were shown to our room and minutes later my husband was presented with a bottle of champagne in an ice bucket and a large piece of chocolate cake with Happy Birthday iced onto the plate - what a lovely thoughtful surprise! We would love to return again.

Old world charm

Posted 16-Aug-2014
Pros: Loved the old world charm of this hotel. Wide corridors and high ornate ceilings. Very elegant. The staff were all very friendly. Amenities good.
Cons: The Guoman lounge-for executive rooms-nice idea but need to improve breakfast. Tables too small. Chairs in all dining areas unsuitable. Too heavy.
Location: After staying in Leicester Square I found this location even better. Right next to C.H. station and Embankment just down side street. Great.
Staff very welcoming. Was very unhappy with the first room I was shown. Very small and not at all like the picture of the Excutive room that I had booked on the internet. Back at reception, a different lady, Michaela, went with me to look at another room, which was larger but looked out onto the roofs of the station. Suffering from a painful back I was also disappointed that it had no bath. After seeing I was disappointed she ended up upgrading me to a Junior Suite which was beautiful with a room looking onto Charring Cross. It did mean that I had some noise but I could live with that. As I was alone and staying for a week I really appreciated the upgrade. I would definitely try to get a junior suite in future if I could get a good deal.

Excellent stay

Posted 05-Aug-2014
Pros: Stand out was the staff
Cons: Breakfast was good but not outstanding
Location: Close to galleries, theatres,Trafalgar Square, pleasant walk along embankment to the temple through gardens, literally on top of tube station.
A last minute booking, stayed one night in a newly refurbished room on the fifth floor. Not large but extremely comfortable with a good sized bathroom and shower. The reception staff were all most charming and exceptionally helpful, best encountered in uk for some time, room service was swift and food reasonable in price and quality. Breakfast was good but not exceptional however accommodating a friend who joined us for breakfast was made very simple and reasonable. The location of the hotel made it perfect for our stay as it is convenient for so many central areas and transport links and yet quiet in the room. Would most definitely stay again.
