Lovely old hotel

Cairnbaan is lovely old hotel by the Creanan Canal. The hotel is easy to find, car park is between the hotel and the road. Service is as expect and the quality of the food is high. They serve a lot of fish dishes.

Poor value for money, very impersonal.

Pros: None
Cons: Old uncomfortable bed. No hot water out of tap in morning. Poor service
Location: Hotel in good location, our room not good at all.
Room was very cold, beds very uncomfortable to the point I could not sleep. Needs a refurb Long way up to the stairs with no offer of help with our baggage. No personal touches. Felt like we were placed in a little used attic room and yet the rest of the hotel obviously not full. At breakfast we were not allowed to sit at a sunny table despite the empty dining room. Felt the hotel very over priced for the service and standard we received. Stayed in a B and B the following night for half the price and twice the service. Really disappointed and wish we had gone elsewhere.

Cairnbaan Hotel

Sadly, this did not live up to expectations, although the food was lovely at dinner and breakfast. Our room kettle took a decade to boil - about as long as since it had last been cleaned externally, the shower was laughable and took me back to days when we had a hand pumped camping one. If cobwebs are your thing, this is the place to be as they were draped from the ceilings across the whole room. We won't be back
