The hotel had easy access to the beach. It was nice to walk out of the room, through the parking lot, right onto the beach. The pool was clean. The rooms were clean but a little worn out. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel had a 4th of July BBQ which I thought was a nice touch. The hotel offered free wi-fi, but we were never able to use it and cell service was limited. If you can look beyond the cosmetic of the hotel, it is a pleasant enough stay. I would stay there again.
It was pretty good. Pool was very nice and very short walk to beach. Staff was friendly. Cons were the balcony was full of spiders so couldn't enjoy it. We asked for a couple extra pillows but they didn't have any?? The ac unit kept turning off and on repeatedly throughout the night.
Room had easy beach access and had good ocean view, had great fun. Close to restaurants and water sport activities.
Beach side rear door had issues and we were locked out of the room for sometime which could have been inspected and fixed earlier nevertheless had good time. Taking away a star for that.
This was the second time we stayed at this hotel. The first time we stayed, we loved everything about our stay. This time however, we didn't realize we were booked into a "pet friendly" room, which resulted in being awaked at 6:30 by a barking dog, which was constant for over an hour, presumably while the owners went to breakfast. Although I understand some people's need to take their pets on vacation or when they travel, this was very aggravating to us and, had there been another room available, would have insisted on being moved. The only other complaint was the toilet in our bathroom clogged and was not securely fastened to the floor. Otherwise, we found the hotel to be lovely with that awesome deck and entrance right onto the beach. Should we decide to stay here again, we will definitely make sure we don't end up in the "pet" section.
Kill Devil Hills, the Outer Banks’ oldest township, is the site of the first heavier-than-air powered flight. On December 17, 1903, Wilbur and Orville Wright made four historic flights at the base of a big hill that is now part of the Wright Brothers National Memorial. Kill Devil Hills is also home to the Outer Banks Daredevils of the Coastal Plain League, a collegiate summer baseball league.
