Very convenient for Dover ferry port

Posted 25-Aug-2014 on Hotels.com
Very convenient for the ferry port, very friendly welcome, comfy bed. We stayed in the pink room which didn't have an en suite so had to walk along the landing to our bathroom where the shower door fell off. The sink in the room was almost blocked. There is double glazing but the room wouldn't be for a light sleeper due to the constant stream of traffic to the ferry port. Ok for us though.

Great location by the White Cliffs

Posted 07-Aug-2014 on Hotels.com
Richard and Susie are greats hosts. We stayed in Dover the night after a cruise - We arrived very early and they stored our (huge!) bags until our room was ready. Tea and Coffee are available in the room, we had a private bath with room #3. Easy walking distance to town with a view just outside our window of the channel. Unfortunate street noise from the very busy road so you might ask for a back room with a view of the cliffs!

Lovely small hotel

Posted 07-Aug-2014 on Hotels.com
This is one of those small hotels found in sea side destinations all along the south coast. It's not new, it's not flashy, and it's not particularly expensive. What it is is a very charming older house right on the waterfront with a pair of excellent hosts who can help you get the most out of your stay in Dover. My only regret is that I didn't get to spend more time in their lounge looking out over the water!

Charming Old Hotel in Historic Dover

Posted 27-Jul-2014
Pros: The owner was extremely kind and welcoming.
Cons: Can't be improved, but beware that the staircase is narrow, try to limit how much luggage to bring with.
Location: Visit Dover Castle
Walking up to this hotel, the front yard is overflowing with flowers and green plants, it seems so peaceful looking out over the ocean. The owner is the most welcoming person, he really made the stay extra pleasant. If you don't like older houses this isn't the place for you. I found it charming, the rooms were decorated with older furniture, sort of felt like a step back into time, but everything was clean and very tidy. Overall I really enjoyed my stay, I liked the uniqueness of staying here versus staying at a chain hotel. Good value for the money.

The hotel was very clean and obviously well looked after the landlady was very polite but from the moment we arrived till the moment we left we never saw another person either from the hotel or guest I would have to say I would never stay in either the hotel or Dover again

Service, charm & character

Posted 04-Jun-2014
Pros: Its character and the service provided by its owners.
Cons: Nothing!
Location: Across the road from the ferry terminal, a few minutes walk from the city center and 15mn walk from Dover Castle: a must!j
We were met with a great welcome and very well looked after during our one night stay. The owners are really nice people, they gave us good advice regarding restaurants and sightseeing and they booked the taxi to take us to the cruise ship terminal. Our room was lovely with sea view. We slept well and enjoyed our breakfasts. The breakfast was served in an ocean view room and was very tastefully set, and quite delicious There is no elevator, but Robert, the Manager, helped us with our luggage. The whole hotel has wonderful character and charm, and I would definitely recommend it.
