Location Highlights
Bermuda International Airport (BDA): Approximate driving time is 25 minutes and distance is 9 miles.
Getting there: Rental cars are not allowed by the government but a government-licensed shuttle service, Bee Line Transport, meets all flights. Trips to the hotel can be arranged at the Bee Line desk outside the arrivals hall for $16–25 per person round trip. (The Bermuda dollar is on par with the US dollar and US dollars are widely accepted.) Metered taxi fare is $16–25. Fees subject to change without notice. Public buses stop near the departures area but do not allow luggage on board.
Getting around: In summer, the hotel offers complimentary shuttle service to Elbow Beach. Some shopping venues are in the immediate area of the hotel and walkable but Hamilton offers much more in the way of shopping, dining, and entertainment choices. Although Bermuda does not allow visitors to rent cars, it runs a convenient public bus service, popular with both residents and visitors alike. Pink buses stop next to the hotel and can whisk passengers downtown in about 10 minutes. Single fares are less than $5 but a better deal is the bus pass (1-day: $5–$15 and 3-days: $16–$25) which is also good for ferry travel. Public ferries leave from the terminal on Front St in Hamilton for Paget, Warwick, Dockyard, St. George’s, Rockaway, and Somerset with most single fares less than $5. Fees subject to change without notice. Schedules vary according to season and day of the week. Bicycles can be rented for $5–$15 a day although they are second in choice to popular mopeds which rent for more than $36 a day. Driving is on the left side of the road. Horse-drawn carriages, a Bermuda tradition, can be found next to the ferry terminal on Front St next in Hamilton. Prices start in the $26–$35 range. Fees subject to change without notice.
