“Very suitable”

I was looking for a hotel that was reasonably priced just to lay down our heads and this met that expectation just fine. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. It was clean and had what we needed, plus a microwave and refrigerator which we did end up using. Not a luxury place, but suited our needs just fine.

“Salida, Colorado”

Good trip, cold, but enjoyable. Enjoyed the sights, eating, entertainment, shopping and surrounding places to go and do activities.

“Not Impressed”

Do not plan on getting what you see on the website. I could feel every spring in the bed, therefore I could not sleep. There is a road that is close to the motel and was very noisy. The A/C did not work, carpet was dirty, and the room smelled like mildew. We will never stay here again.

“Always the reliable one”

Stayed here during a Holiday visit to relatives. We always stay at this "oldy but goody" when we're in Hays. This old hotel, built around 1959 is always clean. The beds are comfortible and the service is great. The cafe that was associated with this hotel closed recently which saddened us a little It was wonderful as well. Stay here with confidence.

“Don't let the pictures fool you”

Motel was clean and acceptable for a comfortable nights stay. However, the pictures were a bit misleading, which I suppose should be expected. Just an FYI, the pool looks nothing as pictured and I didn't find it sanitary enough for us to swim in. Overall though the stay was tolerable, considering the money. Again though, some skilled photography left me expecting more.

“The lesser of all evils?”

The room appeared to be clean when we checked in, but after walking on the carpet for a few minutes our feet turned black. Other than that, the interior of the room was OK, a bit rundown and shabby but fine for the price. Outside, the concrete steps leading up to the room were crumbling to the point where walking up them with a lot of luggage seemed dangerous. The noise level wasn't too bad--we could hear trains going by, but we couldn't hear the other guests in the hotel. I was not happy with my overall experience at this hotel, but that's true of every place I've stayed at in Hays, KS. From my experience, it is a town full of shabby, crumbling motel rooms. The best I can say about this America's Best Value Inn is that it's "not bad," which by Hays standards is pretty good, I guess. If you've got to stop in western Kansas, you could do a lot worse.
