Would not go back...

Posted 26-Feb-2015
Pros: Bob the Concieger and the pool...
Cons: Cleanliness of rooms, add additional luggage carts, have bottle openers available in the rooms...
Location: Too far away from Duval Street... Hemingway House Tour was nice as was the Truman White House Tour...
Room was not clean, mould in the bathroom, bed not comfortable, bottle openers not in the room or available at the front desk (???), only (1) luggage cart for the entire hotel, view from the balconies not good on any room facing the highway, too far away from Duval Street, too expensive for what we got, hot tub very small, no elevator to the 2nd floor...

Nice Place but Needs Some Work

Posted 25-Feb-2015
Pros: See above.
Cons: See above.
Location: The location demands a rental car - it is a couple of miles from the airport and perhaps a 3 mile drive down Rt 1 to the tourist area of the Island.
The Inn is a nice facility. The pool and bar area are really, really nice. The staff was always helpful. The restaurant was good (a little expensive, but not too bad). But, and there is always a but, the management seems to be letting the maintenance and cleanliness of the buildings, walkways, and even the pool and bar area, slip. Right now I would rate the overall place as "acceptable" but if steps are not taken this season it is going to fall into the shabby category. Examples: the sideway in front of our poolside room was almost black with grim; the housekeeping staff did nothing more than a hit and a miss in cleaning our room - sand from the pool area was on our floor for 3 days and never was vacuumed up; our toilet was leaking water into the bowl... not a problem for us, but we reported it and nothing happened except that the weak got bigger; and the parking lots, front and back needed picking up. Management is asleep at the switch.

Clean but not a stellar facility

Posted 25-Feb-2015
Pros: The pool area is nice (watch out for the iguanas!) and the lobby is welcoming. Staff is nice.
Cons: Bathrooms need new toilets (low-flow toilets require multiple flushes)and new shower curtain liners (too short - water always spills on the floor).
Location: For breakfast, the IHOP is right next door. Go there instead of the café on the property, which only has outdoor seating, anyway.
The Inn at Key West is, well, okay. The rooms and grounds need to be updated but the place is clean and the staff is nice. The grounds along the back of the property (where our room was) needs some TLC/maintenance.

Very friendly staffed property.

Location was nice distance from downtown, The staff Jenny, (Front desk), is a true asset to the company, Kevin, (Hammock Cafe manager), made sure that all of or dining needs were exceeded. The pool is attractive and inviting. My room, 222, had dark wood furniture, very comfortable mattress and new pillows. In the beginning I was disappointed that my balcony was behind the tiki bar and I didn't have a view of the pool, but then I appreciated the privacy, my wife could open the curtains and we got plenty of sunlight without anyone looking in our room. Awesome experience and would ♡ to go back.

Helpful staff in a nice location.

I should have spent more time at the hotel and pool. The swimming pool and grounds around it were well maintained and I had them to myself much of the time. I was exploring around most of the time looking at Hemingway's place on Whitehead St. and drinking in some of the bars instead of enjoying what was around me. Fury boat ride was a fun snorkel trip that the concierge can fix you up with.

Very ordinary hotel.

Posted 17-Feb-2015
Pros: Courtyard area
Cons: Wifi strength (it was unavailable in my room). Exterior appearance
Location: Location is not convenient to most Key West activities.
This is a very ordinary hotel witha nicely landscaped courtyard. Exterior of hotel looks pretty rundown, inside of rooms is better. Anywhere but Key West this would be a $60 hotel.

Very nice stay at the Inn. The only surprise was checking out and having a $15.00 a day fee. The staff said it was to cover our free 2 drink tickets, travel services, and free parking. Taxi to town around $16 one way, which was not bad. Over all, nice stay.

Very lazy staff

I left some clothes in the top drawer of my hotel room. I called them the day of my stay the day after my stay and again on the third day after my stay. Each time they said I'm not sure we found anything. And I replied, how hard is it to go to the right top drawer of my room 240 to simply open the drawer and take out the clothes?.then each time, they would simply say "we'll have someone contact you". And I would say, do you know my phone number? And they would say oh yes please get that to me. It was obvious, no one at that hotel had any interest in following up with me. This was thie way they treated me at checkin too. When I called to see if I could check in early they said they would call me back. I had to call back three times before they said oh yes we have a room available now
