Don't bother

Posted 06-Jul-2014
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: First step, let your customers in.
We informed the hotel we were checking in half an hour late (830 pm) in an e-mail they confirmed. When we arrived, they answered the bell but refused to open the door stating the latest check in was at 7pm (the original e-mail says 8pm). It was especially disappointing they refused to open the door even though they were present and we could have resolved the matter by speaking face to face. It is also especially disappointing since it is common knowledge trains often run late in Italy, which means even the best laid plans can result in you reaching your hotel late for check in.

Close to the touring area but noisy

Posted 15-Jun-2014
There is no receptionist at all. You must have a phone to call her to come for checking in. You have to pay cash. I didn't prepare for cash so I had to rush to a change store to purchase cash. As a result, I had to pay extra cost of 20 euro for the cash. The bathroom was shared and it was not mentioned at Ad. It was noisy all the night by pedestrians and cars in the street.

Wonderful room, large shared bathrooms

Posted 22-Apr-2014
Pros: Location, safety, decor.
Cons: Directions to use the heat.
Location: Right off of Signoria Square, where the Ufizzi is located. Easy walking to the Duomo and all other Florentine areas. Located on a nice, quiet street.
This was a great place to stay for the price. Would highly recommend it. The only reason it gets 4 stars for comfort is that we couldn't figure out how to turn on the heat and the staff is not around at most times. So, it was chilly in the room, but bearable. Just be sure to ask about the heat if you think you might need it. The bathrooms are shared (there is a half bath and a large, full bath), but there are few rooms and it wasn't an issue. Other than that, the domed ceiling, large room, pleasant aesthetics, safe building, and great location make this place worth a stay.

Great Location

The location of the hotel is good for shopping and also for sightseeing, however the streets can be heard in our room. Room for improvement on the noise pollution there.

Fantastic Location

You really cannot beat the location of this guest house. It's extremely central. This is not a hotel- the people come to let you in (they ask you when you're arriving, but they were an hour late for me, and the phone number they give is out of service.) When they do let you in, make sure you have the cash ready to pay them. They don't take card, and want the money immediately. This is great place if you are looking to not pay a great deal- probably one of the cheapest places in Florence if you want your own bedroom. It is safe (you get a key to the building, apartment, and your room) and it's pretty clean. The rooms are very clean, and the bathroom sort of depends on who else is staying at the time. So I recommend bringing slippers. The wifi is good and free. The rooms are pretty loud, but thats going to be the case anywhere in the centre of the city. Overall, for what you pay (which is very little), this place is very good.

good accommodations

Room was clean and staff was friendly. It is on a fairly well traveled street so expect some noise. Central location made walking around easy. Cash only, so come prepared.

Great location. OK room. Shared bathroom!!!

Posted 07-Nov-2013
Pros: location
The location of the hotel is awesome. The room is clean and the bed is big. But it no where in the description that I saw that the bathroom is shared between all the rooms. Also, the description says that the room includes a separate living room but all it is, is a couch in a conner. Also, while it is mentioned somewhere in the room description that you Might be charged extra for a person, it is not very clear. We specifically booked for 2 adults and 1 child (4 years old) through Expedia and when we came we had to pay 25 euros extra for our daughter. Not a great hotel for a family or an older couple who want to enjoy their sleep. But I would highly recommend it to a young couple who like to be in the middle of all the great city entertainment and go out late.

Very good location but at the cost of noises

Posted 30-Oct-2013 on Hotels.com
This is not a hotel but an apartment hotel where each room is rented out in an apartment. Once we were given the keys to the apartment and our room, we’re on our own. This is fine with us since we are independent travelers. This might be a problem for others looking for a hotel with services. The apartment rooms and bathroom are cleaned daily. Bathroom is shared. There is a kitchen but it is locked. We’ll need to pack an electric water boiler ourselves next time. The room we got was spacious for two, with two large windows facing street. The location is excellent. It is within easy walking distance to major attractions. The only problem we had was with the noises from the street at night. The windows are facing a narrow street with equally tall building on the other side. The noises are well reflected at night. Since this is located in a popular area, we could hear people and cars until the early morning. Also, there appears to be several sanitation trucks driven by just before midnight, and they were loud. Of the three days we were there, and with windows closed, we were unable to sleep before midnight due to various noises from the street. After midnight we were occasionally woken up by late night goers too. The windows, which are aged wooden widows, can use an upgrade to heavy duty noise insulating windows. We were thinking of calling in to ask for the smaller room not facing the street. But the smaller room wasn't vacant until our last day.

Awful Place. Don't go there.

Posted 24-Oct-2013
Pros: I din't like anything about this hotel. They need to post the real pictures of this hotel.
Cons: Having a receptionist would be very helpful; a person that could help you book tours to the different beautiful areas in the Florence area.
Location: There is a lot to see and do in the area, but if you don't have anyone to help you out, then you are on your own and very frustrated.
Not the best experience at all. A person was waiting for us because we needed to say via email when we will be arriving. Processed the papers and asked for payment in cash; we didn't have enough cash so we were sent to the closest bank to get the money. We did not see anyone again during the three days we were there. We had to buy our own toilet paper because they left only two rolls of paper. The bed was not made, the towels were not changed, in all, the room was never cleaned. They do not advertise the place as having to share the toilet and the shower, which by the way were not very clean. You also have to get out of your room to use them because they are outside in the hallway. The place has no AC so you have to keep the windows open and this is a very busy street, so sleeping comfortably was not easy because it was very noisy every night.
