We were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary and as a surprise my cousin booked myself and my wife into the Holiday Inn in cavell street in London so we could enjoy the sights of the Shard in london and Brick Lane / Spitalfields markets and spend the night in a beautiful hotel. When my wife and I arrived we thought we were staying in a standard room at first but when we got there to check in the Holiday Inn reception staff were aware of us celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary as it was stated on there booking form. Holiday Inn staff wanted to make our stay even more special so they decided to upgrade our room from standard to an Executive room free of charge which we thought was very kind of the Holiday Inn to do for us.
I stayed here for 2 nights with my boyfriend and thoroughly enjoyed my stay, the staff were friendly and very helpful.
The hotel is close to Tower bridge, which we realised when exploring and walking around on our first night. The tube is within two minutes from the hotel and was very handy for us as we were in london to see the sights.
The room was briliant for us and on our final night after all our exploring we relaxed in the hotel and enjoyed the free tea and coffee available in the reception area.
I would definitely stay here again :)

I was more than pleasantly surprised and tried to book again for the following week for my return visit into London, however it was fully booked. A well appointed room that is super clean and modern. I would highly recommend it.

I stayed at this apartment when attending a course. The building was quite hard to find and a longer walk than I expected from the tube. I would stay again if I needed to be in the locality. Otherwise, I would have more comfortable shoes to walk in!
I had booked a 1 bedroom apartment and it was really a home from home. It was wonderful to have proper cooking facilities and a sofa to relax on. Some teabags/coffee/milk were provided although I had bought my own, with a full size mug (as only small coffee cups were provided).
I phoned the day before to get my apartment number and the key was in the post box, all very easy.
The only down-side was the noise of the trains which others have commented on also. The trains did seem to run through the night - I was hoping they would stop at mid-night but they didn't! The heating didn't seem to come on but it was warm enough. I tried to work out how to activate it but instructions gave no clue.
The apartment is a 30 minute walk from the reception office so not good when you have children and luggage. On arriving at the apartment it is in need of some general maintenance as the first thing you see is a broken floor to ceiling mirror when you walk in the door along with loose skirting boards, chipped paintwork, blind fittings loose and a few other minor faults.
This apartment is fine for what we required apart from these niggles and we found that the nearest underground station was a 10 minute walk.
