Extending over several acres, they are a tranquil haven of peace and relaxation and perfectly complement the genteel grace of the main building. Specialising in wonderful modern English food, everything is meticulously prepared and beautifully presented. Flavoursome rather than fussy, all dishes are made from the very finest locally sourced ingredients. Indeed, all of the herbs and most of the vegetables are grown in Lewtrenchard’s very own walled garden. The quality of the cuisine attracts many non-resident diners to the restaurant and the atmosphere is cheerful and relaxed, with a lively buzz of conversation. This is partly due to the friendliness of the chef and staff, but also the excellence and diversity of the cellar, which features a selection of modestly priced bottles from every wine producing region in the world.
