“Would definitely stay there again.”

For an older hotel, the Spartan is very comfortable and up to date. The location is very convenient. The desk clerk, who was at the desk at the time of my son's and my arrival, was very helpful and reassigned us a room on the first level after finding out that I was not able to climb too many stairs. The only improvement that I would recommend is the Internet service. It was difficult to get service in our room and we had to go the office to go on line. Other than that, I would recommend this hotel and stay there again.

“The best motel in Rochester for the price”

I stay at this motel when I go to MI. on business. Older place but very clean and staff was very nice. I have never had a problem while staying at the Spartan Motel. Located right on Main street in Rochester. All around motel are lots of different types of restaurants and all easy to get to.

“A bed to sleep in”

Had our lap top computer stolen from our room. Stayed four nights, room was not always cleaned or beds made. Takes forever to get hot water. No shampoo or bars of soap, had a foamy soap dispenser that wasn't sufficient. We left in the morning and came back in the evening with a dirty diaper still left in the waste basket for the day. Not pleasant.

“Price was good but walls were paper thin”

The price of the hotel was good but the toilet ran and I could hear the surrounding rooms because the walls were thin

location is great in proximity to rochester downtown area/shopping; rochester is quaint town with very nice shopping, ,dining area. also near very nice park; hotel seemed to be under remodeling; room was "clean", but very musty smelling so you almost wonder if there had been water damage; woman at front desk made you not want to have to ask any questions of hear; i was traveling alone & would not have wanted to have had family or spouse stay here.

“Location Not Enough”

We opted for proximity to our event over higher star ratings - NEVER again. The room was dreary, with old stained carpet, a poorly cleaned bathroom with inoperable exhaust fan, and a mediocre bed (bug included). When we opened the curtains for light, a laborer from a crew working on the parking lot was sitting on a wheelbarrow right outside our window facing in. We're wondering if it was the same crew that came in at 3 AM from a night out and dropped a bowling ball (?) on the floor right above our heads, then proceeded to wrestle a couple rounds. We'd paid in advance for 2 nights but stayed elsewhere the second. The only good thing I can say is the shower provided plenty of hot water and pressure (just don't expect to use the mirror afterwards). Rochester deserves better.
