“Needs too much work!”
Rate was great, but the place needs too much work. Beds are OK, pillows foam and very firm. OK for boys trip don't bring your gal...
“Like a ghost town best deal for the money”
Got a great deal on Expedia. The room was sorta clean and the beds weren't super comfortable. Extremely loud knocking noises coming the heating or water system at midnight. Got a different room lo and behold someone was already in it. Next room was good and decently comfortable. I would stay again but not for more than 50 bucks for a lower level two doubles room. The circle bar and Indian room are cool throwbacks and there is some good history if that's what you are into.
“Very decent”
For the rate they charge per night, the hotel is your "best value for money". The room was clean, beds were comfy AND CLEAN, view of the lake was stunning, parking lot was spacious.
“Good for the price”
Nothing amazing, its definitely outdated but the price makes up for it. View of the lake was amazing but we paid for a "lake view" and had a roof view instead. Only after complaining did we get upgraded to the "executive", which is a real lake view.
“North Shore Tahoe With A View”
Perfect place to stay at North Shore Tahoe. We had a room with a view of Lake Tahoe for an amazing price. The Hotel has a few gaming machines. Just one block away you have three casinos with everything you need.
“Lots of rich history...too bad casino is no longer operation. Great View!”
Awesome view of the lake...very inexpensive. We went on the Frank Sinatra tunnel tour , which was somewhat fascinating if you are in to history. Conveniently located on the beautiful North Shore , where we walked to the Crystal Bay Club for the casino and a show.
“would go back.”
When I got to the counter the nice lady gave me the room number I would stay in. Then I asked her "is this a room with the viw of the lake as i have reserved?". She quized her manager abouth something then promptly changed my room number an other room that had the lake view. In other wards, procede with caution otherwise you may wind up with a room you did not ask for of a lower value. Otherwise, the room was worth the discount expedia offered.
“It is what it is”
It is what it is, an older hotel resort with a lot of old school charm. The staff was great, food good; my room had decent view of the lake. It is hard to find places with this much history anymore. All the places where the stars used to hang out in Vegas have been torn down. There is not much of a casino and the place could use a little maintenance but they have done a great job of keeping it what it was. The best part of Cal Neva is being treated like a guest not a customer. I have stayed down in the big casino hotels in Reno but would rather chill at the Cal Neva. I will go back, I found it a nice place to relax and got a kick out of hanging out at Sinatra’s place, just have to grade it on what it is.
“not bad for the price”
did not have a refrigerator...other then that, not bad...needs a make-over in the lobby area
“Pictures not acurate!”
There where no gambling tables as shown in the pictures, the hotel could not break $100 bill (I believe they are going though a bankruptcy), the few slot machines they had, when you wanted to get your money you had to get the bartender to come to you to pay you. The rooms window leaked, soaking the floor, was not upgraded as they claim.
