“Can't wait to go back”

This was my first trip to Ireland and next time I go, I will be staiying at the same hotel. It was very quiant and I felt at home. The staff was AMAZING! Genuinely nice people that love what they do. Location was perfect, hotel is a few blocks from the train station as well as the bus station. Great shopping is also near by as there is a walking tour in Cork.

Area recommendations
Down the street on St. Patricks street and up the hill is a nice size grass patch/park you can take dogs, but it has a view of the skyline. Beautiful!

“Not impressed”

The hotel was in a central location and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was very good. The room however was not. The towels were old and discoloured. The bathroom had no towel rails, no vanity unit or shelving to place toiletries, and the mirror was smoked glass. The windows were thick with dust, there was a broken lampshade and clock radio and generally the room and hotel had a shabby appearance. Ok it lists itself as only 2 stars, but I have to ask what these were for??

Area recommendations
City centre lively with bars and restaurants. Blackrock - nice marina, quiet and suburban.
Getting around
Take care with driving as some one way roads are not clearly marked. Parking also requires care as vouchers must be bought and clearly displayed.

“Great Weekend”

The accomodation at the Windsor Inn is basic but clean. The LV bar on the ground floor where breakfast is also served is buzzing, and the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Especially Tim. Customer service could not have been better. Breakfast was excellent and definitely set us up for the day. When arriving back from our days out the staff were genuinely interested in where you'd been. The location of the hotel is less than 5 minutes from the main street, and was great value for money.

Getting around
Take the number 224 bus from Merchants Quay to Blarney Castle. The staff in the bus station and the bus driver were really helpful. It takes approximately 20 minutes to get to the castle, and the driver tells you which stop and where to get your return. We had the same bus driver back as going, again very friendly and acknowledge you. Cost 6 euros return per adult, ticket machines in the bus stations, then walk outside to Merchants Quay - 2 minutes.
