The hotel has a great location for touring the city and the other villages along the lake. Our check in process was seamless and our room was a nice size with a lovely view of the lake. Breakfast in the morning was plentiful - something for everyone, not a continental breakfast at all. We used the complimentary bikes for a stroll around the villages and enjoyed the restaurants recommended by the reception personnel.
We had a suite for quadruple occupancy. It was huge ! Separate room for the children, dining table, sofas, large room for 2 adults too. Check in was quick, large car park. Short drive to Como, easy access from the motorway. Gluten Free breakfast was provided by hotel as requested. Would definitely stay again if we were in area.
"Nice hotel to stay in the heart of old town centre"
Plinius was in great location, staff couldn't be more friendly. Free wifi was good but cable TV dropped out often. Pillows very thin though. Great value in a great town. Better than more expensive, more starred hotel I'm currently in at portovenere

Traditional Italian city hotel situated just 200 metres from the famous Lake Como, and 500 metres from the historic Duomo …More
Whilst 5 kilometres away from the centre of Como and the lake, the transport connections, with the railway station round a couple of corners, and bus stops just down the road, this wasn't such a problem. The very reasonable room prices, combined with the fresh designs of the rooms, plus the friendly and diligent attention of all the staff made it a pleasure to stay. Rooms were cleaned daily to a high standard, and bedding changed every couple of days. Breakfast was varied and tasty, although a little chaotic at times on the occasions when everybody seemed to arrive together.
An excellent week was spent there, at reasonable prices, leaving us to spend our money down in and around the Town, and around the lakeside attractions.
Very happy about my stay at Como Hotel. I was not sure looking at it on the internet and I cannot say any negative comment about the hotel, room and especially the staff. I even got a little breakfast bag on my way out because I was going to take an early train. Will definitely go back again!
This lakeshore town near the Swiss border has elegant parks and medieval buildings. It also has a busy industrial quarter based on silk manufacture, and is a fine place for shopping. A museum traces the history of Como’s textiles, which still supply the great fashion houses of Europe. Main sights are a handsome Gothic - Renaissance cathedral, and the Romanesque church of Sant’Abbondio, decorated with 14th-century frescoes.
