“Loved this hostel!”

We had a great experience at Rowan Tree Hostel. The staff was amazingly helpful. Our room was large and had a balcony with a view of the River Fergus. The continental breakfast was simple, but as advertised. It is located within a short walk from the center of Ennis and is also a reasonable walk from the train/bus station. The Rowan Tree has earned the "Best Hostel in Ireland" rating for the past two years, and after our stay we understand why.

“Excellent place to stay in Ennis!”

Rowan Tree was a fantastic place to stay for our first night in Ireland. The staff was friendly, the room was clean, and most importantly, we got an excellent night's sleep. When we checked out and commented on how quiet is was the girl at the desk thought we were being sarcastic because there was a party going on that night. We didn't hear a thing! The cafe next door to the hostel was great also. There is no parking at the hostel, but we were able to park across the street overnight for free and only had to pay a few Euros/hr for the next day while we were out sightseeing. Would definitely stay here again!

“July 2011 Review”

The hostel itself was nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast provided was nice, and the room was clean. It was very easy to get to the destinations we wanted to see in the city, as well as to the train station the next morning. We'd recommend this location if you understand that it is a hostel, and not a hotel. It was a very nice place to stay, but basic, which is all that we required. The only downside we actually found was the noise level of some of the drunk people that were standing a few hundred feet away from our window late at night.
