“Will do in a pinch”

The motel is old but seemed fairly well maintained. Everything worked as it should, the room was clean, but the mattresses were well past their prime. The sag in the mattress made it difficult for me to sleep, though my wife & son did OK. A mini fridge was in the room, but some typical items weren't, like a hairdryer, shampoo, and alarm clock. The staff were all very nice and helpful.

“old fashioned but great location!”

I think I got what I paid for the room is old fashioned but everything worked fine, it was fairly clean and what I really liked was the location! it was close to everything so if you don't plan to spend a lot of time in the hotel ans you are looking for a cheap optio and don't mind some old fashion, this is your place

“No frills accommodations; be sure to ask for "non-smoking"”

This is a "no frills" hotel. Bed, tv, internet, towels, soap... If you need a convenient and affordable place to stay and don't need a lot of luxuries, this is it. I had read other reviews about noise and bad customer service, but I took a chance booking here because: a) it was in my budget, and b) it was one of the few hotels with vacancies in the area. I'm not happy that it apparently was a smoker's room. I didn't even think to request a non-smoking room, but at the same time, they didn't ask me for my preference either. I was slightly annoyed to find the room smell of smoke. I didn't have time to make a room switch because of my busy schedule that day, so I kept the room. After a while, I didn't notice the smell, but when I returned home, everything I had with me reeked of smoke like I had been in a bar. So be sure to ask for a non-smoking room. It was quiet. I had no problem with any loud neighbors. My room faced the major road through the city, and it didn't bother me. I do sleep with ear plugs, though so that helped.

“BADLY NEEDS CLEANING AND UPDATING”

SHOCKED THAT EXPEDIA HAS A 10% CHARGE added to the bill when you arrive at hotel. i would not even shower in the bathroom. have seen only one hotel that was worse in my lifetime. on a scale of 1 to 10 - 1 being terrible i would give it a 2 1/2.

“Last time to go there”

This is the 4th and final time we will stay here. I'm not sure of its age, but the motel looks like it was built just after WWII. You are supplied 2 'wee' sized bars of soap; the towels are paper-thin; the 'battened' walls look like they are about to come apart. The price was right for the Charlotte area. The area has lots of fast-food places if you want that. There is a shopping center with supermarket just a short distance away. We usually bring our own pillows but forgot them this time.

“No Wifi in room, but office had connection.”

We had no Wifi in our room and had to go to office/lounge to get Wifi service and stayed there for a hour or to to do what we had to do on computer. We told the front office about on Wifi service and they said it was our fault because our computer wasn't set up with their service, so day manager son switched out computer service and had it running in office, so we thought we had it fixxed. When we came back from dinner and shoppin, still had no service in room. When we check out, I told this and said they where Sorry and look into it. They didn't offer no discount or anythang. Also, the room looked like it was trashed previsiously and put back together half way. Punched out in bathroom door, and shower curtain was bent and towel holder was hanging by a screw.

“rather sleep in my car”

The shower would not work, the fire alarm went off 6 times throughout the night! "sorry about that" was the response in the morning. Walls were so thin we heard people in the parking lot and next door all night long, when the fire alarm wasn't going off. I would drive an hour extra to stay elsewhere...

“Clean but needs refurbishing”

It's obvious that this property is trying to maintain some moderate quality. The furniture is very nice and the bed, although quite soft, was comfortable. The rooms have just as obviously been around for a long time and need to be completely refurished. No amount of paint is going to hide the fact that the interior woodwork is far out of date and needs to be completely removed and replaced. Also, this motel did not provide good value. The room rate was much higher than the space warranted. I have stayed at many motels for less money with much nicer accomodations.

Although I asked for a non-smoking room, it smelled like cigarettes. Some of the furniture was broken. No breakfast was included although advertised.

The hotel needs seriouse remodeling. Ceiling had lots of water damage, room was dirty, and place looked like it is about to fall apart. Staff was nice, and had no issues. Location was great, everything was just a block or two away.
